CALL TO ORDER II. ROLL CALL III. APPROVAL OF MINUTES A. MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF AUGUST 12, 2020 REC: Approve as presented ACTION: IV. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS In consideration of the current Coronavirus/COVID-19 Pandemic and pursuant to California Governor Newsom’s Executive Orders, Art in Public Places Commissioners may participate in meetings via teleconference. Any person wishing to discuss any item not otherwise on the agenda has the following options for public participation: Public comment may be received by email or voicemail from the time the agenda is posted up until one (1) hour prior to the posted time of m eeting convening (9 a.m.) Emails received will be printed and distributed for the record prior to the meeting. If the sender so requests, the email will be read into the record at the meeting not to exceed (3) minutes in length. Emails should be sent to alawrence@cityofpalmdesert.org Voicemails will be forwarded to the Art in Public Places Commission at or near the time they are received. If the sender so requests, the voicemail may also be saved and played at the appropriate point in the live meeting not to exceed three (3) minutes in length. Voicemails should be called into (760) 837-1664 Because the Brown Act does not allow the Art in Public Places Commission to take action on items not o n the Agenda, members may ART IN PUBLIC PLACES COMMISSION AGENDA SEPTEMBER 9, 2020 2 briefly respond or instead refer the matter to staff for report and recommendation at a future Art in Public Places Commission meeting. ACTION: VIII. CONTINUED BUSINESS A. CONSIDER COMMISSIONING AN ARTIST TO PAINT A TEMPORARY ARTWORK SUPPORTING EQUALITY AND SOCIAL JUSTICE ON A LOCATION TO BE DETERMINED REC: By Minute Motion, commission an artist to paint a temporary artwork supporting equality and social justice at a location to be determined.
