A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PALM DESERT, CALIFORNIA, RECDM1E2\IDING TO THE CITY COUNCIL DENIAL OF A ZONING ORDINANCE AMENDMENT CREATING SECTION 25.58.313 PROVIDING FOR THE INCLUSION OF COMPACT PARKING SPACES IN REQUIRED OFF-STREET LOTS. CASE NO. ZOA 88-5 WHEREAS, the Planning Cc m issicn of the City of Palm Desert, California, did on the 3rd day of January, 1989, hold a duly noticed public hearing to consider amendment of the zoning ordinance creating section 25.55.313 providing for the inclusion of compact parking spaces in required off-street lots; and WHEREAS, said application has complied with requirements of the City of Palm Desert Procedures to Implement the California Environmental Quality Act, Resolution No. 80-89, " in that the director of community development has determined the amendment to be a class 5 categorical exemption; and WHEREAS, at said public hearing, upon hearing and considering all testimony arguments, if any, of all interested persons desiring to be heard, said planning commission did find the following facts and reasons to exist to recommend denial of a zoning ordinance text amendment: 1. The proposed standards will create traffic hazards and parking regulation enforcement problems when standard size vehicles park in compact spaces. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Planning Commission of the City of Palm Desert, California, as follows: 1. That the above recitations are true and correct and constitute the findings of the commission in this case. 2. That Zoning Ordinance Amerxlnent 88-5 is hereby remanded to city council for denial. PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Palm Desert Planning Commission, held on this l7th day of Janes, 1989, 'by the following vote, to wit: AYES: NOES: ABSENT: ABSTAIN: RICHARD ERWOOD, Chairman ATTEST: RAMON A.
