Dear Mr. Wallace:
Subject: 76-000 COUNTRY CLUB DRIVE - REGENCY PALMS
The City of Palm Desert Department of Community Development is in receipt of your plans for the
Regency Palms homeowners' association (HOA) turf reduction along Country Club Drive. Your
plan is APPROVED, subject to the conditions listed below:
Conditions:
1. Removal of turf areas around existing trees can be traumatic for the trees. Revisions to
the existing irrigation system will be necessary to ensure survival of the trees. A
combination of Netafim and micro sprayers has been an effective combination.
Reference City of Palm Desert Landscape Standard Drawings for Netafim installation.
2. Decomposed granite (D.G.) color to match/be compatible with adjacent D.G. D.G. in the
right-of-way (R.O.W) to be 3/8" minus with 11% fines wetted and compacted to a final
depth of 2". No weed cloth allowed in the R.O.W.
3. Boulders to be set 2/3 into the ground. Reference City of Palm Desert Landscape
Standard Drawings.
4. Contact the Landscape Services Department at the City of Palm Desert to schedule a
plant placement inspection and a final inspection for planting in the R.O.W.
5. All plans shall be updated to reflect the conditions and comments in this letter. As -built
plans shall be submitted to the Department of Community Development upon completion
of the project.

2. Keep D.G. away from tree and plant trunk base for health of the plant.
3. Confirm which Carissa is to be planted and the plant spacing on all shrub material.
4. In areas where turf has built up above the sidewalk, it is recommended that the grade be
adjusted in this area.
5. Planter at the entry drive aisle is very narrow. Lantana 'Teenie Genie' or similar plant is
recommended here.

OVERVIEW
1, Project Background and Description
Regency Palms 76-800 Country Club Dr. Palm Desert, CA 92262
Remove all sod in the front perimeter and convert into desert landscaping
2. Project Scope
La Hacienda has a bid proposal to the of said property above:
Work to be included:
Removal of existing grass, adding weed barrier, replacing with Saddleback Brown DG ( Decomposed
Granite),adding 1"- 4" accent rubble, adding 2'-4' boulders, adding low maintenance 5 gal. assorted desert accent
plants.
La Hacienda to use existing water valve system, adding laterals, drip system, and bubblers where necessary
to added plants and trees.
3. High -Level Requirements
The new system must include the following:
• Ability to allow new and existing lines to activate together
= Ability to interface with existing lines and valves
• Ability to incorporate automated timing system
4. Exclusions
All areas not listed above
