Hoehn - Quarterly ReportQuarterly Report City of Palm Desert Representative Palm Springs International Airport Commission Air Service Development 1. 2019 was a record breaking year. • April —13.9% • May —13.1% • June —12.0% • July —9.2% • August —14.5% • September — 3.2% • October — 5.9% • November — -4.1% • December — -2.7% • Full year 2019 —10.2% • January — -1.7% The 2019 annual passenger traffic reached a record number of 2,563,955 arriving and departing passengers 2. As predicted, 2020 is starting of slower, affected by the Boeing 737 Max issue as well as a decline in traffic from Canada. 3. The GPSCVB's aviation consultant, Ailevon Pacific Aviation, briefed the commission about the status of air service at PSP and the continuing efforts to secure additional airline frequencies and service to new markets. Priorities are new markets in the Pacific Northwest and the Bay area and adding service to Chicago and Dallas. Airport Concessions 1. The City of Palm Springs Procurement department held a briefing for interested parties to explain the RFP process in place to select new concessionaires for the airport. Both national and local retailers and restaurants attended the meeting. 2. The Commission voted to approve a one year term with four one year options to all airport car rental concession agreements. This process provides flexibility to the airport as it goes through the design and planning process for the construction of the new car rental facility L I - I I kG 0e 8jj OZOZ 330 5,'�g3�N 11^ 7; 3. The commission reviewed the proposal for the award of anew parking management contract and recommended that it be reviewed again by the City Procurement department for reconsideration. Airport Proiects 1. The expansion of the TSA inspection facility has been completed, creating more room for queuing away from the rotunda and public areas. 2.
