Air Service Development
• The big news over the last few weeks has been the announcement by several airlines to
initiate and/or add service from Palm Springs to several new markets this fall and
winter.
Southwest Airlines
➢ Has announced that it will start service from Palm Springs this winter but has yet to
announce the markets it will serve from PSP
Alaska Airlines
➢ Daily service to Boise, Idaho from December 17 to April 12
➢ Twice daily service to San Jose, California year-round starting December 17
➢ Five times a week to Reno -Tahoe, Nevada from December 17 to April 12
Delta Airlines
➢ Daily service to Los Angeles year round beginning in November
➢ Daily service to Atlanta starting in January and extended through April
American Airlines
➢ Once weekly service to Philadelphia starting on December 17
JetBlue
➢ Twice weekly service to Fort Lauderdale starting on December 17
Allegiant Airlines
➢ Twice weekly service to Eugene, Oregon starting on November 20
➢ Twice weekly service to Boise, Idaho starting November 19
Boutique Air
➢ Daily service year round to Los Angeles beginning Oct 1
Airline Traffic
• August passenger traffic declined by 62% year over year, a lower decline than
previous months but small consolation during these difficult times
Staff Changes
• The new Deputy Director Marketing has assumed his duties at the airport this
month and will be working closely with the CVB on air service development and the
promotion of air service to and from Palm Springs International airport
