HomeMy WebLinkAbout06 Grant of Easement SCE Monterey CrossingMEETING DATE: PREPARED BY REQUEST Recommendation STAFF REPORT CITY OF PALM DESERT PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT December 10, 2020 Christina Canales, Engineering Assistant Authorize the Mayor to execute a Grant of Easement to Southern California Edison By minute motion, authorize the Mayor to execute a Grant of Easement to Southern California Edison (SCE) for the Monterey Crossing Project. Strateqic Plan This action has no impact on the Strategic Plan. Background The Monterey Crossing is a commercial project located at Monterey Avenue and Dinah Shore Drive. The City of Palm Desert owns the parcel south of the project. A portion of the SCE line runs through the City property. In order for the Monterey Crossing project to receive service from SCE, a portion of the electrical line must cross through the City parcel. Staff recommends that the City Council authorize the Mayor to execute the Grant of Easement, through which the City would grant a six-foot (6') wide easement of approximately 100 square feet to Southern California Edison.
