HomeMy WebLinkAboutPresentation - PD Chamber 55th Annual Golf Cart Parade11 palm desert area arnher of cornmercc, OPENING DOORS FOR BUSINESS March 13, 2019 City of Palm Desert 73510 Fred Waring Dr. Palm Desert, CA 92260 Dear City of Palm Desert, On behalf of the Board of Directors of the Palm Desert Area Chamber of Commerce, I am pleased to submit a funding request for the Title Sponsorship of the 55"' Annual Palm Desert Golf Cart Parade scheduled for Sunday, October 27, 2019. The City of Palm Desert has generously provided the Chamber, city residents and many visitors with a unique annual tradition to remember and this year for the parade's emerald anniversary, the PDACC team is developing a plan to further enhance the success and growth of this iconic event. Our event enhancement strategy includes introducing the following elements: a. Parade Consultant Ron De Harte - Ron is a Coachella Valley parade veteran, known for his work and improvement of the Palm Springs Pride Parade, Veterans Day Parade, Black History Parade and Festival of Lights Parade (Fee $8,200). b. Jerry Martin's Cruise Night Inclusion - Marketing and promotion benefits intrinsically gained through this partnership. His a -blast is sent to 6,000 Valley residents and will be providing 80 classic cars to kick off the parade, marketing First Fridays which kicks off just one week later. c. Animal/Pet Charity Component - Loving All Animals will co -host a large animal adoption after walking or riding the adoptable dogs through the parade. d. Target Marketing For Golf Industry/Country Clubs - The Palm Desert golf industry needs an event that provides a strong branding opportunity and gives their current membership special seating for a nice outing. e. No Theme - Increases the potential for more business/float participation, as well as the opportunity for enhanced and more creative float decoration. Our total sponsorship request, with the inclusion of these new and other enhanced event features, is $45,000. We are grateful for the continued partnership and support from the City of Palm Desert. We value your opinion and want nothing but success and sustainability for this event, as well as positive branding for the City of Palm Desert.
