Jeremy Wittie, MS., General Manager, will be presenting. I will send you his slides by 7/10. Where in the Agenda do you think his presentation will be placed? If it is scheduled toward the end of the meeting I can let Jeremy know he does not have to be there right at 4:00 p.m. Please use this title on the Agenda: Coachella Valley Mosouito and Vector Control District West Nile Response and Programs Uudate. I will ask Jeremy to bring handouts. Again, thank you for giving us this opportunity! Please let me know if you need any additional information. Thank you for your call yesterday and the e-mail. Yes, I can confirm you for the July 11 agenda, for the regular session at 4:00 p.m. in our Council Chamber for a 5-minute presentation to the City Council regarding West Nile Virus. Further confirming your questions: 1. There are approximately 12 people at the dais (5-City Council, City Manager, City Attorney, City Clerk, Deputy City Clerk, Director of Community Development, Director of Public Works, Director of Finance). The audience that attends can vary — there will usually be around 10-15 City staff members, waiting for their agenda item, with the amount of other public audience members varying from 15-25, to a full house (the Chamber can comfortably seat around 100 people in the main audience area). City Council always likes a take -away, especially if it's a fact sheet that they could refer to should they be asked about WNV or the District. So I will leave that to you — you can go either way and have a handout or not, it's certainly not required. If you wish, you could send me the PowerPoint no later than 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 11 (preferably before), and I will take care of loading it onto the Council Chamber computer and have it on the desktop the day of the meeting. However, I also recommend that you bring it along on a flashdrive in case of emergency. Let me know if I can be of any further assistance in the meantime. I will try to make a point of e-mailing you the Posted Agenda once it's distributed on Wednesday, July 3 (hopefully — if we don't get it done by Wednesday, then it would be finished on Friday, July 5). Have a good weekend! As I explained, the Coachella Valley Mosquito and Vector Control District detected West Nile virus in the City of Palm Desert. We would like to request to be included on your upcoming agenda for a short presentation (you stated five minutes would be allotted) to your Council members and those in attendance. The presentation focuses on West Nile virus transmission, general mosquito prevention, what actions the District is currently taking to protect public health and how the City can assist. Our General Manager, Jeremy Wittie or Laboratory Manager, Jennifer Henke will facilitate the presentation. Can you please confirm we will be included on your July 11, 2019 agenda? Additionally, please let me know the following: 1. How many people are on the dais and how many people typically attend a meeting 2. Do you recommend a handout sheet for the Council 3. Do you need us to send you the PowerPoint Thank you, Execuare Assistant%Clerk of the Board Coachella Valley Mosquito and Vector Control District 43420 Trader Place Indio, CA 92201 P: 760.342.8287 ext. 240 C: 760.625.5497 F: 760.342.8110
