Quarterly Report 2019 DEC I I Psi 4: 39 City of Palm Desert Representative Palm Springs International Airport Commission Air Service Development 1. Passenger traffic continues to grow at an impressive rate this year • April —13.9% • May —13.1% • June —12.0% • July —9.2% • August —14.5% • September — 3.2% • October — 5.9% • YTD — 13.9% At this rate the annual passenger traffic number will easily exceed 2.5 Million 2. The outlook for the traffic growth in November and December continues to be positive but starting in January growth may be affected by a decline in the number of seats offered due to the on -going Boeing 737Max problem. 3. Another positive indicator, however, is that Delta Airlines will be deploying a Boeing 757 for its Palm Springs — Atlanta flight which reflects the airline's confidence in the valley's growth potential. Local Marketinp, Campaign 1. The Palm Springs Tourism Bureau will launch a marketing program for the airport with the goal of raising awareness for the airport and the destinations to which flights are offered from PSP 2. The program will include a redesign of the PSP website landing page separate from the City's website 3. The campaign will use social media, digital ads, national and local publications as well as TV and Pandora Bono Concourse 1. The new black Eames chairs have been installed in the Bono Concourse and additional seats were installed in the regional concourse Airport Concessions The RFP for airport concessions is being developed to create the new concession program in two phases with the first phase targeting existing concessions and a second phase focused on some new concessions spaces. The RFP will be designed to encourage local businesses to apply. Airport Capital Improvement Program The Airport Director presented the Airport Capital Improvement Program covering the years 2019-2024. This report is required by the FAA so that it can determine the amount of funding it will provide for the individual projects in the plan. Rolf Hoehn 12-12-2019
