HomeMy WebLinkAboutSurplus - Misc Chairsit - CITY OF PALM DESERT COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT STAFF REPORT MEETING DATE: March 22, 2018 PREPARED BY: Ryan Stendell, Director of Community Development REQUEST: Request for approval to surplus and dispose of chairs from various conference rooms at City Hall. Recommendation By Minute Motion, declare chairs as surplus and authorize disposal as proposed. Strategic Plan Objective Surplus of broken and/or unusable office equipment has no impact on the Strategic Plan. Background Staff has recently replaced aging chairs in both the Development Services Conference Room (14 chairs) and the Emergency Operations Center (17 chairs). Some of the chairs are in good condition while others should be disposed of. Below please find a recommendation for these assets: 1. Development Services Conference Room (DSCR): Dispose of seven (7) of fourteen (14) chairs from the DSCR. Staff is recommending the remaining seven (7) chairs be donated, sold, recycled or reused at other City or mutual benefit facilities (i.e., Parkview, Joslyn, Fire Stations, etc.) 2. Emergency Operations Center (EOC): All of these chairs (17) are in good condition, however are not suitable for the tight configuration of the EOC. Staff is recommending these chairs be donated, sold, recycled or reused at other City or mutual benefit facilities (i.e., Parkview, Joslyn, Fire Stations, etc.) 3. Public Works Storage Area: Three (3) additional chairs have been identified for disposal and are located in the Public Works Storage area. 4. Coachella Valley Association of Governments Room 119 (CVAG): Dispose of twelve (12) of 36 chairs from CVAG conference room 119. Staff is recommending the remaining twenty-four (24) chairs be donated, sold, recycled or reused at other City or mutual benefit facilities (i.e., Parkview, Joslyn, Fire Stations, etc.) Photos of the above -mentioned chairs can be found as an attachment to this report.
