Limnologists, Inc., (dba Southwest Aquatics), for Lagoon and Water
Features Maintenance Services in the amount of $34,999.92;

Strategic Plan Objective
Lagoon and water features maintenance is an on-going maintenance activity and, as
such, does not contribute directly to the Strategic Plan goals.
Background
The Lagoon and Water Features Maintenance Services contract includes the lagoon at
Civic Center Park, and the two water features at Entrada del Paseo. The contract,
which is set to expire June 30, 2018, is for a term of one-year with the option of four,
one-year extensions.
Desert Limnologists, Inc., has agreed to a one-year extension commencing July 1,
2018, at the current annual contract amount. Desert Limnologists' performance has met
City standards, so staff recommends approval of this extension.
May 10, 2018 - Staff Report
Approve C36001 Lagoon Maintenance, 1st Extension
Page 2 of 2
With the revision of the City's Purchasing Policy, and due to the small annual contract
amount, staff also recommends authorizing the City Manager to execute the remaining
three, one-year extensions of the contract, including any Change Orders, based on
staff's evaluation of the performance of this contractor.
Fiscal Analysis
The contract amount is included within the FY 18/19 operating budget; therefore there is
no anticipated fiscal impact.
