Strategic Plan Objective The City of Palm Desert and the Desert Willow Golf Resort have some of the City's premier recreational facilities. By preserving and enhancing its facilities, the City furthers its goals of continuing the high quality of life that our residents and visitors expect, and providing recreational and exercise opportunities in all public spaces. Background Analysis The City of Palm Desert and the Desert Willow Golf Resort purchase grass seed on an annual basis for overseeding of the City parks, sports fields, and the Desert Willow golf course. The City and Desert Willow combine their seed orders in order to maximize cost savings on the purchase. On May 23 and May 30, 2018, the City Clerk called for bids for the purchase of the 118,000 pounds of grass seed. Sealed bids were opened and read out loud on Monday, June 11, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. with the following results: June 28, 2018 - Staff Report Award Annual Seed Order to Foster-Gardner, Inc. The remainder of the seed (86,000 pounds) will be used by the Desert Willow Golf Resort.
