REQUEST: Accept the resignation of ten (10) Palm Desert Youth
Committee members and appoint eight (8) new members to the
Palm Desert Youth Committee.
Recommendation
By Minute Motion:
1. Accept the resignation of Palm Desert Youth Committee members
Matthew Chang, Isaac Cho, Patricia Dan, Olivia Frary, Tacie Johnson,
Clare Kim, Tazz Ross, Jenny Schwartz, Uriah Shaw, and Daria Wood,
and;
2. Appoint Marco Capobianco, Alan Cho, Hailey Dewegeli, Savannah
Duckworth, Erin Kulas, Teana Ross, Jacqueline Scibona, and Todd
Shaw to the Palm Desert Youth Committee.
Strategic Plan Obiective
The Palm Desert Youth Committee assists with the Economic Development goal of
expanding quality education so that our youth are prepared for the workplace of the
future. It also assists with the Education goal of creating community awareness of,
and support for, the building blocks of student success, including academic,
vocational, and career success.
Background Analysis
As a result of their graduation from high school, ten (10) appointed Palm Desert Youth
Committee members have given a written or verbal resignation from the Committee.
Consequently, the Committee now has ten (10) vacancies. Staff is proposing that the
vacancies be filled by Marco Capobianco, Alan Cho, Hailey Dewegeli, Savannah
Duckworth, Erin Kulas, Teana Ross, Jacqueline Scibona, and Todd Shaw, all of whom
are already serving on the Committee as altemates.

Committee. My last day of service was May 14, 2018. I will be leaving the Palm Desert Youth Committee with
the intention of continuing my education at the University of California San Diego.
It has been an honor to serve the City of Palm Desert for the last three years. Through this committee, I've
improved my leadership and social skills. I've also realized my passion for helping others. I would like to
personally thank Ms. Glickman for supporting and guiding us in helping our city.
1 wish the best of luck for this committee, as I go on to further my education in college. Thank -you for the
memorable experience as a member of the Palm Desert Youth Committee.

Letter of Resignation
lb Whom It May Concern,
Please accept this letter as a formal notification that I am resigning from my position as a
member of the Palm Desert Youth Committee. My last day of service will be May 14. 2018. I
will be leaving the committee with the intention of continuing my education at the University of
California San Diego.
1t has been an absolute pleasure to serve the City of Palm Desert for the past six years. The Palm
Desert Youth Committee is an exceptional program and I want to thank the city for its
continuous support of these youths. Through my volunteer work with the committee, I have met
so many inspiring individuals who have opened up their hearts and dedicated their time to
serving their community. I am honored to have been able to work alongside them. It is the care
that the city puts into its work that has influenced me to major in Urban Studies at UCSI) in
hopes of one day becoming a city planner.
The Palm Desert Youth Committee has made past six years some of the best years of my life,
and for that I am forever grateful.

member and vice -chair of the Palm Desert Youth Committee. My last day of
service will be May 14, 2018. I will be leaving the Palm Desert Youth Committee
with the intention of continuing my education at California Lutheran University.
It has been an absolute pleasure to serve the City of Palm Desert for the last
three years. Through this committee, I met numerous community members
who gave me insight into the city's foundation and work. I couldn't be more
grateful for the opportunity to leave an impact on my community and the
learning experience I have had throughout all of my volunteer events.

I would like to sincerely thank you for giving me the opportunity of being on the Palm
Desert Youth Committee. It has truly been an honor serving the community with my fellow
