Following are meetings held with groups, residents, and/or businesses for the period of
January 30 — February 10, 2017:
January 30 Damone Daniel—Nu Creation Outreach
Met with Pedro Rodriguez and Damone Daniel to discuss his
application for a business license.
Executive Management
Weekly meeting with the management team.
Sustainability
Met with Ryan Stendell and Deborah Glickman to discuss the
Citizens' Sustainability Committee and goals for the future.
Oversight Board
Attended the Successor Agency Oversight Board meeting.
January 31 Palm Desert 2017 TABs — Closing Call
Conference call with consultants and bond underwriter to confirm
and finalize the sale of refinancing bonds.
Short-Term Rentals
Met with Ryan Stendell, Kevin Swartz, and Councilmembers Kelly
and Nestande to discuss details of forming a Short-Term Rental
Subcommittee.
Erik Vega
Met with Erik Vega to discuss his career goals with the City of Palm
Desert.
Russell Grance
Met with Russell Grance to discuss Building & Safety Department
issues, work load, staffing needs, and goals.

Desert Willow Advisory Committee
Met with Rudy Acosta and Ryan Stendell to discuss processes for
the formation of a Desert Willow Advisory Committee and potential
subject matter and jurisdiction.
February 1 City Attorney
Semi-weekly meeting to discuss property transactions, pending
litigation, municipal code interpretations, and routine matters.
Tom Kirk
Lunch meeting with Tom Kirk.
San Pablo Corridor Improvements
Met with staff to discuss design details including lane configuration,
parking, and impact on businesses.
State of the City Discussion
Met with Mayor Harnik and David Hermann to discuss topics for the
State of the City address.
February 2 Staff Meeting
Met with staff to review the draft agenda for the February 9 Council
meeting.
Outside Agency Funding Requests
Met with Amy Lawrence, Rachelle Klassen, Frankie Riddle, and
Thomas Soule to discuss procedures for handling outside agency
funding requests and sponsorships, and how to budget
appropriately for them.
SIMS/NIMS/ICS Training
Participated in SIMS/NIMS/ICS training with Eric Cadden.
February 3 IT Master Plan Staffing
Met with Clay von Helf, Lori Carney and the Client First consultant
to discuss staffing needs for the IT Department in order to
implement the IT Master Plan.
Meeting with the Mayor Pro Tem
Met with Mayor Pro Tern Jonathan to discuss issues of current
concern.

Women Who Rule Luncheon
Attended the Women Who Rule Luncheon at the Agua Caliente
Casino.
IT Master Plan
Met with staff and Client First consultants to discuss the draft of the
IT Master Plan, the process by which work items were prioritized,
funding through the budget process, and necessary commitments
of time and money for implementation.
February 6 City Attorney
Semi-weekly meeting to discuss property transactions, pending
litigation, municipal code interpretations, and routine matters.
Executive Management
Weekly meeting with the management team.
73-697 Santa Rosa Way
Met with Martin Alvarez to discuss the Successor
Agency/Redevelopment Agency property located on Santa Rosa
Way.
Virtual Event
Attended a webinar entitled Understanding the CaIPERS Discount
Rate Change and the Effect on Employer Contributions.
Indoor Space for Cannabis Research
Met with Mayor Harnik, Rob Bernheimer, Ryan Stendell, and Ruth
Ann Moore to discuss the possibility of utilizing an uncertain indoor
space for the purpose of cannabis research.
Kathleen Kelly
Met with Councilmember Kelly to review the upcoming Council
agenda for the February 9 meeting.
February 7 Building & Safety Staffing
Met with Lori Carney, Russell Grance, and Jason Finley to discuss
staffing issues in the Building & Safety Department.

Cove Commission Technical Advisory Committee
Attended the Cove Commission TAC meeting in preparation for the
February 14 meeting.
February 8-10 League of California Cities City Managers Department Meeting
Attended the LOCC City Managers Department Meeting in
Monterey, California.
