Notes:
• Overall Program GPA: 3.22 (3.5 3rd Quarter 2016)
• Below 2.0 GPA students:4 (6-2016)
o (1) 8th Grader struggled due to consistent early pick up from the program.
o (1) 8th Grader struggled with emotional illness..
o (1) 7th Grader struggled due to a late start into the program.
o (1) 6th grader fell below 2.0 due to home situation, situation continues to be
managed by school counselor and teacher team.
• EL and RFEP Students:
O 27 out of 159 Bridges students are designated as English Learners (EL) or
Reclassified Fluent English Proficient(RFEP).
o all students received 2.8 or higher. 24 students received 3.3 or higher.
2016 vs 2017 and 2018 Projections
• Enrollment
o In 3rd quarter of 2016 the Bridges program had an enrollment of 138 with
7 classes and Study Hall supervisors.Additionally Bridges thrived on
part-time support from 6 additional tutors.
o Currently in 3rd Quarter 2017,we have an enrollment of 159 students with
8 classes and Study Hall Supervisors. With additional enrollment,we only
have 4 part time tutors for support.
• Academics
O 2016 the program had a lower enrollment and a higher staff count, making it
a very successful program.
o In 2017,with the increase of students, and shortage of staff,we have been
successful in minimizing failing students, but also shifted students in the
higher ranks to the middle of a curve.
• Projections for 2017-2018
o Approaching the end of the year we can already see that a reduction of the
program's student population is needed to be more effective.
o The higher cost of district salaries and cost of snacks is requiring the
program to increase weekly participation cost from $30.00 to $35.00.
