Recommendation
By Minute Motion, declare vehicles and equipment as surplus and
authorize disposal as recommended.

This is an operational function and, as such, it has no impact on the Strategic Plan,
Background
The vehicles and equipment an the attached list are surplus and are no longer needed.
The vehicles listed :in lterns through 6 were al! replaced with new vehicles in Fiscal
Year 01 -1T. The following recommendations are rude for disposal:
Items 1
Vehicle #002 — 2004 Ford F-150 Bi-fuel, N / egular fuel, expired CNG tank. It'is not
cost effective to have a new tank installed. It is recommended to surplus and auction,
or scrap this vehicle.

Vehicle #198 — 200 . Ford F-150 Bi-fuel,.CNG/Regular fuel, expired CNG tank. It is not
cost effective to have a new tank installed,. It is recommended to surplus and auction, or
scrap this vehicle.,

Vehicle # 31.— 2003 Ford F-350 flatbed. This truck is 14 years old -and has been driven
more than 100,000 'miles. It is recommended to surplus and auction, or scrap this
vehicle.

Vehicle #010 — 1995 F-Series water truck. This truck is more than 22 years old, f is
inoperable, and it is not cost effective to repair. It is recommended to surplus and
auction or scrap this vehicle..
Item 8
Onan Generator - 125kV diesel -fueled emergency electrical generator with a 6-cylinder,
4-cycle Cummins engine and a sub -base fuel tank. This is the old generator from the
Sheriffs Substation that was replaced. tt is not economically feasible to upgrade the
generator to meet the California air quality requirements. It is recommended that the
generator be auctioned to an out-of-state user, onto scrap the equipment..
Fiscal Analysis
Approval of this request may generate funds that will go back into the City's General
Fund account.
