Home My WebLink AboutCDW-G - Adobe Acrobat Subscription STAFF REPORT CITY OF PALM DESERT INFORMATION SYSTEMS DEPARTMENT MEETING DATE: December 14, 2017 REQUEST: Approve payment to CDW-G Inc for Adobe Acrobat annual subscription in the amount of $13,252.75 Recommendation By Minute Motion, that the City Council: approve payment to CDW-G, Inc. in the amount of $13,252.75 to provide Adobe Acrobat software for one year. Funds are available in Account No. 1104190-4336000. Strategic Plan Although the City's internal I.T. infrastructure is not addressed in the strategic plan, its upgrade underlays, and is essential to, all projects and services performed by the City. Background Analysis The City of Palm Desert utilizes Adobe Acrobat software for numerous functions, from creating forms to creating searchable document archives. Staff requests approval of payment for annual subscription in the amount of$13,252.75. The City is currently using different versions of the Acrobat software — causing problems with compatibility and user training. By moving to a subscription based service, City staff will be kept up to date with the software, and have a consistent version across the network. As a government agency we are able to piggyback on the California NVP Software Agreement, and make this purchase through the vendor CDW-G Inc., which meets the City's purchasing requirements. Fiscal Analysis Approval of staff's request would result in an expense of $13,252.75.
