HomeMy WebLinkAboutResignation - M.Thompson - AIPP CmsnCITY CLERK'S OFFICE PALM DESERT. CA December 4, 2015 2115 DEC -7 PM 1: 43 Dear Mayor Weber and Council Members, I am writing this letter to tend my resignation from the Art and Public Places Commission of Palm Desert. I have been honored to serve as a member of this commission for many years. During my tenure I have been fortunate to be a part of the many events and programs which support the arts in our city. I am particularly proud of our Public Art program which is noted as one of the best. In addition I have been pleased to be part of the recognition of local artists in our community shows, Student Art and Essay Contest, our film series, and our partnership with the Palm Springs Museum. These are just to name a few of the many programs that exist due to the support of the council. I truly believe that our city is the beacon of all of the cities in the valley in the area of art for our citizens and visitors. I believe that when you take a position of public service you should be a full participant. At this time I do not feel that I can participate fully in the varied activities of the commission. It would be remiss of me not to note the wonderful staff that assist our commission. I have enjoyed working with Debra Glickman, Management Analyst, and Debbie Thompson, Art Tech. Both of these women do an excellent job with the commission and display excellent professional skills. I want to thank you again for your vote of confidence in me over the years to serve the City of Palm Desert. Sincerely, Maureen Thompson COPY TO 4•tT1-e-i'lC+ozc`
