Funds have been included in the proposed budget for 2016/2017 in Account No. 110-4417-414-3026. Backqround The BrightSide newsletter is mailed six times a year to approximately 35,000 Palm Desert households and businesses at a current bulk rate of 15.7 cents per piece. The cost for mailing the newsletter is expected to average just under $5,600 per issue based on current U.S. Postal Service rates and past rate increases. The Postal Service typically revises its rates upward each year. These annual increases have historically ranged between .4 cents and .7 cents. Fiscal Analysis Approval of this expenditure will ensure delivery of the City's newsletter. The fiscal impact is $33,600 to the general fund.
