Staff Report - Appointments/Reappointments to City Committees and Commissions May 26, 2016 Page No. 2 Strategic Plan Obiective Appointment/Reappointment of individuals to the City's standing Committees and Commissions furthers the Strategic Plan's objective of continuing to provide opportunities for valuable citizen engagement in the City's governance. Backaround Since early this year, Councilmembers have been reviewing their own liaison assignments and citizen appointments to the City's standing Committees and Commissions. Following the Study Session conducted on May 12, staff was given direction about reappointments and some new appointments for the balance of this year, as provided above. Additionally, during a prior Study Session on April 26, staff was asked to institute a policy of interviewing incumbent Committee/Commission Members for potential reappointment at year-end for terms that are set to expire. That direction is represented by the final recommended action in this report. Fiscal Analvsis Appointments and reappointments to City Committees and Commissions do not make a fiscal impact on the City Budget.
