Strateqic Plan Obiective This is an on -going maintenance function and as such, does not directly contribute to the objectives of the Strategic Plan. Staff Report Approve Use of Specific Automotive Services Page 2 of 2 June 9, 2016 Background The City's fleet inventory consists of 68 vehicles ranging from small sedans to heavy- duty trucks operating on electricity, gasoline, compressed natural gas (CNG), propane, diesel, or a combination of these fuels. The City's maintenance facility is neither equipped, nor staffed to accomplish all necessary repairs and maintenance of these vehicles. The City has relied on outside service facilities to perform repairs that are beyond our service capabilities. Palms to Pines Automotive, L & L Automotive, Inc., and Ozzie's Automotive, Inc., have been selected for fleet repair services based the variety of mechanical services they provide, including CNG alternative -fuel vehicles, and their hourly rate. The hourly rates for these three vendors are: Palms to Pines $75, L&L Automotive $85, and Ozzie's $86. For any significant costly repairs, City staff will determine which vendor to use based on the most reasonable estimates received for the repairs needed. Fiscal Analvsis Approval of this request may result in savings to the City in staff time and effort by avoiding delays in procurement of general fleet repair services that cannot be accomplished by staff.
