Southwest Turf Support, LLC Agreement
By Minute Motion:
1. Authorize the Desert Willow Golf Resort to purchase greens fertilizer
products from Southwest Turf Support, LLC, of Phoenix, Arizona,
(Contract No. C35410) for the Desert Willow Golf Resort for FY
2016/17, in an amount not to exceed $115,000;
2. Authorize the Mayor to execute the Agreement
Funds are available in the FY 2016/17 Desert Willow Operating Budget, Course and
Grounds Expenses: Account No. 5204195-4803100.
Background
The greens at the Desert Willow Golf Resort require a specialized fertilizer
manufactured only by the Floratine Products Group. The only approved distributor of
Floratine products in Riverside County is Southwest Turf Support, LLC.
Golf course putting greens receive a scheduled program of products based on physical
soil analysis performed throughout the year, keeping putting green health at its
optimum. The products are applied as a mixed solution through liquid fertilizer
applications. The mixed solution used consists of several products based on the specific

needs of the turf during any particular growing season. The specific need is determined
through soil and tissue testing. The flexibility of this structure is vital in providing
superior putting quality as well as controlling pathogens, insect populations, and weed
invasion. This process allows for different custom -blended mixes throughout the year
calibrated to the current condition of the course, weather, or golf activity.
There are several distinguishing characteristics that are unique to Floratine products:
• They address the total health needs of the turf. Other companies address only
turf growth rate and aesthetics.
• These products are designed for use with non -potable irrigation water.
• The products are designed specifically for use on golf courses.
• The products provided contribute to efficiency of turf maintenance.
Floratine products have a long track record of being successful at maintaining the health
of the Desert Willow greens. Other golf course putting greens that utilize these products
within the Coachella Valley include, but not limited to:
SilverRock Resort (La Quinta)
The Springs Country Club (Rancho Mirage)
The Citrus Club at La Quinta Resort (La Quinta)
Floratine products are flexible in addressing specific forms of plant stress brought on by
the extreme desert environment, non -potable water use, and physical impact of the
game of golf. Other companies do not have the variety of products to address each
form of plant stress.
Fiscal Analvsis
The actual quantities of the greens fertilizer products purchased for FY 2016/17 will be
on an as -needed basis determined by the golf course superintendent and is dependent
on many factors directly related to the turf and soil conditions. The amount of fertilizer
will not exceed the budgeted amount of $115,000.00.
A cost comparison analysis was performed for other similar types of greens fertilizer
and the costs within industry standard. Funds for the annual purchase are included in
Desert Willow's FY 2016/17 Operating Budget, no appropriation is needed.

CFO
Floratine Products Group — 355 L. South Street — Cotliervitte, TN 38017 — P 90 t.853.2898 — F 901.221.1160
Products relying on patented components.
1. Astron, Knife Plus, Renaissance, Perk Up
Complementary nutrient-biostimulant foliar products also
containing phytochemical content as described in whole or in part
of US patent #'s 5188655 or 5250500.
2. Raider Plus
Spray adjuvant formulated from and containing elements
described in US patent # 5250500.
3. Turgor
Silicon and potassium nutrient derived in part from potassium
siloxane as described in our patent pending application. No other
existing turfgrass product contains this chemistry, which allows
achievement of silicon translocation throughout the plant while
other silicon compound formulations do not.
B. Products with no "or equal" based on content.
1. Power Primary Nutrients
a) All three products (Power 23-0-0, Power 0-0-22, and PK
Fight) contain proprietary, sole source proprietary organic
acids which enhance nutrient utilization (see University
tests on attached product sheets). Floratine has an
exclusive contract for use of these raw materials for turf
products from the Swedish suppliers.
b) PK Fight also contains phosphite (PO3) material which is
stabilized by patent -pending chemistry.
2. ProteSyn
Proprietary, multi -source amino acid supplement to provide
complete, as opposed to competitor's partial, supply of amino
acids and reliance on nitrogen content for visual response.
Floratine Products Group — 355 E. South Street — Collierville, TN 38017 — P 901.853.2898 — F 901.221.1160
3. Floradox Pro
Unique mixture of specific organic amino acids, pre -cursors,
and phytochemicals which contribute to plants stress (disease, etc.)
defense and recovery system.
4. Oxyflor
Concentrated, stabilized oxygen product for increased soil
oxygen. We are unaware of any other comparable product.
5. TriCal-35SP
35% soluble soil calcium. It is the only 35% calcium carbonate
liquid available and is activated by a proprietary organic chelate to
enhance soil microbiological activity and corresponding nutrient
availability.
6. Maxiplex
20% humic acid for soils with fulvic acid removed. Other
humic acids contain a maximum of 14% humic; they also contain
fulvic acids which contribute to soil hydrophobia.
7. Calphlex
Glucoheptonate acid multi chelated (7x) - 8% calcium -based
liquid to solubilize soil reserves of calcium, magnesium, and
manganese and reduce excess bicarbonate and sodium conditions.
We are unaware of an "or equal" formulation.
B. Defense -Man
Soluble soil manganese supplement with 25% Mn and
antioxidant content. We are unaware of any other sprayable
products containing this level of Mn and/or antioxidant content.
9. Pervade
Soil penetrant wetting agent for movement of excess
moisture. While there are other soil penetrants, Pervade is unique
in containing stabilized oxygen.
Floratinc Products Group — 355 E. South Strcct — Collicrvillc, TN 38017 — P 901,853.2898 — F 901.221.1160
10.Retain Pro
Soil wetting agent to conserve moisture. Again, its use rate is
lower than similar products. Like Pervade, it is unique in that it also
contains stabilized oxygen.
C. Products without patented and/or proprietary content or design
features and for which "or equal" products exist:
1. FP-747—Tank water acidifying agent.
2. Phlex Mag — 4% magnesium sulfate with citric acid chelation for

3. PERK UP A proprietary formulation of highly absorbable foliar calcium specifically
designed to alleviate respiratory stress in intensively manages turf grasses.
The proprietary natural patented biostimulant combination is in ideal
proportion to assist the turf grass in maintaining desired respiration levels
during stress periods. Calcium component is sequestered in a high
molecular weight natural fermentation sugar/carbohydrate that is also an
essential component in alleviating tufgrass respiration stress under adverse
environmental conditions. Protected by one or both
U.S. Patents No. 5188655 and/or 5,250,500
4. POWER 0-0-22 A foliar potassium formulation of low salt index, food grade, raw materials
for low burn potential and rapid foliar absorption. Formulated to assist turf
in re-establishment of osmotic balances due to low K soils, low water, water
logged soils, low water, water logged soils and/or dominance of ammoniacal
nitrogen form that accumulates in soil profile as a result of low organic
matter and/or low oxygen.
* Single Source Manufacturer
* Rapid Absorption Technology protected by U.S. Patent No. 5,250,500
5. CALPHLEX A unique soil amendment formulation utilizing calcium molecules to stabilize
two different natural cyclic acids in the spray tank so that
their release is only realized in the soil where the release
action of the cyclic acids results in the solubilization of soil calcium more
available for plant absorption.
Where insoluble calcium in the soil allows sodium from the water source to
accumulate CalpHlex is utilized to solubilize the insoluble Ca reserves to
aid in flushing (Na).

8. TRICAL: A proprietary, highly concentrated calcium product that is complexed
with organic surfactants for use of golf courses, athletic playing fields,
and other intensively managed turf areas. Unlike other calcium
products TRICAL is a precipitated calcium carbonate that provides an
absorbable Ca molecule to the plant. The Ca constituent is an all -
available forum, with an organic molecule that prevents tie up in the
rootzone.
* Single source manufacturer.
9. PROTESYN: Protesyn is a proprietary formulation of select amino acids that are in
ratios most suitable to elicit turf health, growth, asthetics, and durability
under heavy stress. Unlike any other amino acid product, the mix of
acids in Protesyn necessarily must come from a number of sources to
achieve the ratios desirable for commercial turf. Product also contains
plant active antioxidants.
* Single source manufacturer
10. LARGO 3000: A proprietary mieronutrient blend fortified with patented biostimulant
combination that is designed to produce turf health, color, and
durability on intensively managed turf areas that experience normal cut
heights greater than 0.5 inches. Covered by Patent No.'s 5,188,655 and
5,250,500 and other patents pending.
