Approve Change Order No. 1 to Contract No. C33871 with Dedicated Building Services, LLC, (Dedicated) for janitorial services for the Parkview Office Complex; 2. Increase the amount of the contract by $3,150; and 3. Authorize the Mayor to execute Change Order No. 1. Funds are available in the General Fund Account No. 5104195-4369601, CAM-BLDG #444. Strateqic Plan Obiective Providing janitorial services is an on -going operational/maintenance function and, as such, does not directly contribute to the objectives of the Strategic Plan. Staff Report Change Order No. 1 for Additional Janitorial Srvs at Parkview Office Complex Page 2 of 2 November 10, 2016 Background The subject contract was awarded by the City Council to Dedicated Building Services, LLC., on August 28, 2014, for a term of 21 months with an option for two, one-year extensions. On June 30, 2016, the City Council approved the first one-year extension in the amount of $76,890. Currently, the restroom facilities at the Parkview Office Complex are cleaned once per day after regular business hours. Recently, staff has received a number of complaints from Parkview tenants regarding the condition of the restrooms during the day. After careful consideration, staff asked Dedicated for a quote to add one hour to their daily schedule specifically for cleaning the restrooms in the afternoon. Dedicated submitted a quote in the amount of $450 per month, which staff considers it to be reasonable. Therefore, staff requests approval to add one hour of janitorial services per day to the Parkview Complex Building contract for the remainder of the contract term (December 1, 2016, through June 30, 2017). This will increase the contract by $3,150 ($450 x 7 months) for a total of $80,040. Fiscal Analysis This is an on -going maintenance activity with no fiscal impact beyond the contract amendment. The Contractor shall construct, furnish equipment and materials, and perform all work as necessary or required to complete the Change Order items for a lump sum price agreed upon between the Contractor and the City of Palm Desert, otherwise referred to as Owner. Contract Time Extension 0 Days. Revised Contract Total $80.040 The undersigned Contractor approves the foregoing Change Order # 1 as to the changes, if any, in the contract price specified for each item including any and all supervision costs and other miscellaneous costs relating to the change in work, and as to the extension of time allowed, if any, for completion of the entire work on account of said Change Order # 1 .
