By Minute Motion:
1. Approve purchase of replacement LED lighting and snowfall tubes for
the City's Holiday Lighting Program in the amount of $7,063.20 and
appropriate $7,063.20 from the Unobligated General Fund and transfer
to Account No. 110-4310-433-3910.
Background
The City of Palm Desert updated its Holiday Decor Program in 2013 with the award
of the new Holiday Program to Premier Holiday Design. Premier Holiday Design is a
local, full service holiday and special event production company in operation since
1995.
Some of their clients include the JW Marriot Desert Springs Resort and Spa,
Renaissance Esmeralda, the Hyatt Regency Indian Wells, The Gardens on El
Paseo, Sun City Palm Desert, and the City of Rancho Mirage.
The revised holiday program includes lighted palm and deciduous trees along the El
Paseo corridor and was positively received by businesses, visitors, and residents for
the last two years. Due to the positive community feedback of these lights, the City
Council directed staff in 2014 to extend the duration the lights remain on the trees
through April 1 St. Staff recently directed the contractor to extend this date to May
15th. The lights cannot remain on year round because the trees need to pruned and
tree growth would also damage the lights.

Fiscal Analysis
The City Council's approval of all enhancements, as outlined in this report, would
require an appropriation of $7,063.20 from the Unobligated General Fund.

2. Purchase of LED Double Sided Snowfall Tubes 577 mm for replacement of non -working tubes.
Purchase of Double Sided Snowfall 570 mm
Needs: 8 @ $195.00 per
Cost - $1560.00
Tax - $124.80
Total cost - $1684.80
3. Purchase of LED Double Sided Snowfall Tubes 511 mm for replacement of non -working tubes.
Needs: 4 @ $165.00 per
Cost - $660.00
Tax - $52.80
Total cost - $712.80
Total cost - $7063.20
Payment terms: Balance due July 10, 2015.
All work would be done to accepted industry standards. The job requires that an appropriate power -
supply be provided by The City of Palm Desert to each of the areas to be lit by any of the above
Premier Holiday Design products.
