Purchase Course Fertilizer for DWGR
July 9, 2015
Page 2 of 2
Contract No. C34610
The bids were opened on June 23, 2015. Only one bid was received, from Crop
Production Services (CPS), San Jacinto, CA in the amount of $186,470.64. CPS is the
current fertilizer provider and their products meet the specifications listed in the bid
documents. The Desert Willow golf course superintendent has reviewed the product
data sheets and has indicated they meet the requirements for the golf course.
The superintendent is responsible for the determination of the quantities of fertilizer
application and is on an as -needed basis dependent on many factors directly related to
the turf and soil conditions. Staff recommends approval to purchase the golf course
fertilizer from CPS for FY 2015/2016 in the amount not to exceed $186,470.64.
Fiscal Analysis
This year's annual fertilizer pricing is lower than last year by $27,237.60, but this years'
fertilizer order is 20 tons lower in the solid fertilizer category. The actual quantities of the
fertilizer purchased for Fiscal Year Ending June 30, 2016, will be on an as -needed and
will not exceed the contract amount of $186,470.64. No appropriation is required;
funding is available in FY 2015-2016 Desert Willow Operating Budget.
