HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 2015-72 - Community Development - Destruction of Files - Temporary Use Permits 1997-1997RESOLUTION NO. 2015-72 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE CITY OF PALM DESERT, CALIFORNIA, SETTING FORTH ITS FINDINGS AND AUTHORIZING THE DESTRUCTION OF TEMPORARY USE PERMITS FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT THAT HAVE BEEN DIGITALLY IMAGED DATED 1991 to 1997. WHEREAS, Community Development of the City of Palm Desert, California, has copied onto CD, official files, records, exhibits, and other documents of said department; and WHEREAS, said imaged files will be stored and retained for substantially less cost than the original documents and with less hazard from fire and water damage. WHEREAS, Government Code Section 34090 requires that files be identified before destruction and the files proposed for destruction are Temporary Use Permits dated 1991-1997. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALM DESERT, CALIFORNIA, AS FOLLOWS: 1. That the above recitations are true and correct and constitute the findings of the City Council of this case; and 2. That it does hereby approve the destruction of all documents, records or files digitally imaged on CD, and stored on the City's electronic document management software.
