C34310 WITH ANDERSON AIR CONDITIONING L.P. Walnut Avenue Fullerton, California 92831 DATE: September 10, 2015 CONTENTS: Notice of Completion Change Order No. 1 Recommendation By Minute Motion: 1. Approve Change Order No. 1 in the amount of $5,773; 2. Authorize the Mayor to execute Change Order No. 1; 3. Accept the work for the Civic Center HVAC Replacement 2015 project as complete; and 4. Authorize the City Clerk to file a Notice of Completion for Contract No. C34310 with the Riverside County Clerk and Recorder. Funds are available in Account No. 1104340-4331000. Background On May 14, 2015, City Council awarded Contract No. C34310 in the amount of $107,091 to Anderson Air Conditioning, L.P., of Fullerton, California, for the Civic Center HVAC Replacement 2015 project. The project included the replacement of 14 rooftop package HVAC at various locations throughout City Hall. Due to equipment availability, the work was not started until the last week in July; therefore, staff requested that the Contractor provide a cost to complete the work on the Staff Report NOC and CO for C34310 with Anderson Air for Civic Center HVAC Replacement 2015 Page 2 of 2 September 10, 2015 weekends rather than during the weekdays to minimize impact to employees and patrons at City Hall. The cost for overtime to complete this work was $5,773. Change Order No. 1 will increase the total contract amount to $112,864. Staff has inspected the work performed by the contractor and has found said work to be substantially complete and in accordance with the contract requirements. Fiscal Analysis Costs for Change Order No. 1 are available in the project contingency. There is no additional fiscal impact beyond the transfer from contingency to base. The Contractor shall construct, furnish equipment and materials, and perform all work as necessary or required to complete the Change Order items for a lump sum price agreed upon between the Contractor and the City of Palm Desert, otherwise referred to as Owner. Contract Time Extension 0 Days. Revised Contract Total $112,864.00 The undersigned Contractor approves the foregoing Change Order # 1 as to the changes, if any, in the contract price specified for each item including any and all supervision costs and other miscellaneous costs relating to the change in work, and as to the extension of time allowed, if any, for completion of the entire work on account of said Change Order # 1 .
