20 years who is passionate about the need for selfless volunteering; and
Whereas, a native Californian, she grew up in Los Angeles before
moving to the desert in 1989; and
Whereas, Carole is a tireless advocate for community mental health
and for the victims of domestic violence and sexual assault; and
Whereas, Carole currently serves as a volunteer for Shelter From
the Storm and Coachella Valley Sexual Assault Services; and
Whereas, she was appointed as Commissioner for several
Riverside County Behavioral Health Commissions and the Community
Action Partnership of Riverside County, is a board member of the Riverside
County Desert Board of Behavioral Health and the Foundation for
Economic Stability, and Carole is Chairwoman of the Riverside County
Department of Mental Health, Adult System of Care Committee and the
Criminal Justice Committee; and
Whereas, a Rotarian since 1991 and Palm Desert Rotarian since
2007, Carole is one of the first woman Rotarians in Riverside County with
recognition of 20 years of membership in 2011; and
Whereas, in 2014 Carole was given two distinguished awards: the
Riverside County Department of Mental Health and Riverside County
Mental Health Board "Advocate of the Year," and the "Volunteer Service
Gold Award" from the President of the United States' Community Action
Partnership.
Now, Therefore, I, Susan Marie Weber, Mayor of the City of
Palm Desert, California, Along with the entire City Council, Do Hereby
Proclaim November 12, 2015, as
Carole Schaudt Day
in the City of Palm Desert and urge all residents to join us in expressing our
appreciation for her special commitment and service to our community in
enhancing our quality of life, with our best wishes for many years of
continued accomplishments in the future.
