T21 1620079- Vehicle stop yields $6,000 worth of narcotics and 3 guns. T21 1740062- Burglary series from May until August, suspect in custody, majority of property recovered. T21 1720029- Cat -Burglary series from June until July. 2 suspects arrested. T21 1 810090- Massage parlor investigated and shut down. Owner arrested for pimping and pandering. T21 2520097- Embezzlement of $10,000 by Sam's Club employee investigated. Suspect arrested. T21 2860071- Storage facility burglary series. 2 suspects arrested. Robbery series, City of Palm Desert. September 9 through September 23, 5 armed Robberies investigated. 1 suspect in custody. Raised more than $4,000 during "Stuff the Bus" event. Quality of Life operations impacting Business District in an extremely positive manner. REPORTING AND COMMUNICATIONS Significant incident reports and calls for service are reported daily on the City's website Monthly reports are provided to the Public Safety Commission, including: Monthly, YTD, and YTD comparison crime statistics (FBI UCR) Calls for service and response times Activity and statistics from: Business District Team (BDT) ■ Special Enforcement Team (SET) • Burglary Suppression Unit ■ Crime Prevention Team Traffic Bureau ■ Coachella Valley Violent Crime Gang Task Force • Coachella Valley Narcotics Task Force Investigations and Evidence Bureau Monthly citation activity log Traffic collision statistics RESOURCES Through the development of the FY 20/21 Budget: Three additional Community Service Office (CSO) positions were added One Business District Team (BDT) position was eliminated Additional time is needed to fully realize the impact of the CSO positions Positions are meant to provide relief to deputies on certain reports and investigative work City may want to consider funding the BDT position $357,000 annual cost BDT provides additional support to retail areas throughout the City, including conducting supplemental patrols, responding to calls for service, and leading criminal investigations for those crimes affecting the business community
