Subject: City Council Agenda (November 18, 2021)
Below you will find questions received from the Mayor and/or Councilmembers and answers provided
by City staff regarding tonight's Council meeting agenda.
Consent Calendar — Item 12:
• Question: This lease did not contain a termination provision that would allow the City to
terminate the lease if, for example, the contract for services with Riverside County Sheriff was
terminated. Has that been considered by staff?
o Answer: The lease termination provision was not a point of discussion during the
amendment negotiation process and therefore it is not included in the amendment.
Consent Calendar — Item 22:
• Question: This item is a Request for Direction, since staff is requesting direction from
Council, shouldn't it be under the Action Calendar?
o Answer: Yes, this item should be under the Action Calendar. Due to requested
changes in the lease -purchase option, staff will be requesting to pull this item from this
agenda and will bring it back as an action item on the December agenda.
Calendar — Item 24:
• Question: On Item 24, will the city be following the process to allow residents to apply to be
part of this committee?
o Answer: Per the City Council's direction on September 30, 2021, staff was authorized
to proceed with the appointment of the Desert Willow RFP Review Committee,
including a resident with golf experience. The informational item on this agenda is an
update to notify Council that staff has selected Mr. Bob Leo due to his expertise in the
golf industry and specifically experience reviewing golf operations, budgets, and golf
course financials.
