ARCHITECTURAL REV,VV COMMISSION O
MINUTES February 11, 2020
V. CASES:
A. Final Drawings:
1. CASE NO: PP/CUP 19-0007
APPLICANT AND ADDRESS: La Quinta Brewing Company, Attn:
Ramon Gutierrez, 77-917 Wildcat Drive, Palm Desert, CA, 92211
NATURE OF PROJECT/APPROVAL SOUGHT: Consideration to
approve final construction drawings: La Quinta Brewing Company.
LOCATION: 74-714 Technology Drive
ZONE: PC-3/FCOZ
Mr. Nick Melloni, Assistant Planner, presented final construction
drawings for La Quinta Brewery Company located on Technology
Drive. He pointed out that the height of the grain silo (silo) is shown
as 33' instead of 23' as originally planned and will work with the
applicant to get clarification. Commissioner Vuksic said
architecturally it wouldn't be a bad thing if it pops up and breaks the
parapet.
The Commission asked about paint color for the silo and Mr. Melloni
said the applicant hasn't stated their intent on the color at this time
and staff doesn't want to dictate color if the applicant wants to do
something a little more creative.
Commissioner McAuliffe asked if they were proposing signage on
the silo. Mr. Eric Ceja, Principal Planner, said he would imagine the
applicant would take advantage of that.
ACTION:
Chair Van Vliet moved to approve subject to applicant working with staff to
confirm height, signage, and exterior finish of the grain silo. Motion was
seconded by Commissioner Lambell and carried by a 6-0-1 vote, with
Lambell, Levin, McAuliffe, Schmid, Van Vliet, and Vuksic voting YES and
McIntosh absent.

VI. COMMENTS
Commissioner McAuliffe asked about condo units on the corner of Panorama Drive
and El Camino that appear abandoned, that also has a damaged vinyl fence and
debris from palm trees that hasn't been cleaned up. Mr. Ceja said the units are
inhabitable but there is a contractor making some improvements, but it is moving
slowly. It has been an ongoing code issue and the code division is trying to get a
hold of all the individual owners. Mr. Ceja said he will follow-up with the code
supervisor and email the Commission with an update.
Vil. ADJOURNMENT
Commissioner Vuksic moved to adjourn the Architectural Review Commission
