Palm Desert City Council
A couple of comments regarding today’s City Council agenda.
8. RESOLUTION to support net energy metering.
We want to thank the Palm Desert City Council for initiating this resolution to support NEM.
We encourage the Council to pass it. The CPUC’s proposed decision regarding NEM removes
the financial incentive to grow rooftop solar in CA. The proposed decision does little to
nothing to financially motivate new or current rooftop solar property owners to install solar
storage. The incentives for lower income property owners to install rooftop solar will not be
effective.
18. CONSIDERATION of an appeal to reaffirm City staffs’ decision…
We request the City Council affirm the staffs’ recommendation and the city attorney’s
opinion to deny the appeal and better define HOA as needed in the appropriate
ordinance.
