ARCHITECTURAL REVIEW COMMISSION ACTION
CASE NO: 289 C

NATURE OF PROJECT/APPROVAL SOUGHT: Final approval of 10,075 square foot
industrial building.
LOCATION: Northwest corner of 42nd Avenue and Corporate Way.

Upon reviewing the submitted plans and presentations by staff and by the
applicant, the architectural commission approved this case as submitted.
Date of Action: March 25, 1986
Vote: Carried 3-0-1 (Commissioner Cook abstaining)
(An appeal of the above action may be made in writing to the City Clerk of the
City of Palm Desert within fifteen (15) days of the date of the decision.)

MINUTES
ARCHITECTURAL COMMISSION
— MARCH 25, 1986
Moved by Commissioner Holden, seconded by Commissioner Cook to
approve the wall with the addition of wings at each end. Approval
does not include artwork or signage. Carried 4-0-1 (Commissioner
Martin abstaining).
3. APARTMENT PROJECT - Parkview (former Ward project)
Mr. Martin explained the site plan changes that had been made to the
Plans and asked for final approval.
Commissioner Cook recommended that some type of break or landscaping
be added to the parking area to provide some relief.
Mr. Drell indicated that ordinance requires 52 parking spaces. He
suggested that the applicant eliminate the excess garage spaces and
add landscaping.
Moved by Commissioner Holden, seconded by Commissioner Cook to
approve this case with the condition that three landscaped areas be
installed in the garage parking area replacing approximately six
garages. Carried 4-0-1 (Commissioner Martin abstaining).
4. HOMME - 289 C
Commission reviewed that plans and indicated that they had no
concerns.
It was moved by Commissioner Holden, seconded by Commissioner Martin
to approve the plans as submitted. Carried 3-0-1 (Commissioner
Cook abstaining)

Mr. Smith reviewed the case and indicated that commission had
granted approval subject to the sign being individual letters. The
applicant did not wish to use individual letters, therefore, the
applicant wished to present his case.
Mr. Tim Unruh, owner, explained that most of the signs In the area
were metal framed cans and that only one sign was individual channel
letters. He thought that the proposed sign was more conducive to
the building and other signs in the area.
