MINUTES
THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 17, 2022 — 8 A.M.

I. CALL TO ORDER
Patrick Klein called the meeting to order at 8:07 a.m.

III. CONSENT ITEMS
A. Approval of the Minutes and the Financial Statements of the El
Paseo Parking & Business Improvement District Regular
Meeting of January 31, 2022.
Rec: Approved
A motion was made by Fletcher and seconded by Campbell to accept and
approve the minutes with the noted corrections. Motion passed with a 7-
0-0 vote; with Goldberg, Stein, Stauber, Klein, & Flaig-Moore, Campbell
and Fletcher voting in favor; none against and absent.
Financial Statements combined for approval with the meeting minutes.

IV. PARTNER UPDATES
A. City of Palm Desert Lupine Plaza Presented by Deborah Glickman — The
current two options for Lupin Plaza were shared with the Board.
President's Plaza Construction — City representative not available for
presentation, but Thomas Soule did update the group on the status of the
parking lot. The West lot will start to be paved Feb. 22 — 25, with half the
parking lot always remaining open to customers. Except for Feb. 24th when
the parking lot will be fully closed.
Palm Springs Life: Events Update presented by Paulina Larson. Palm
Springs Life (PSL) continues to move forward at full force with Palm Desert
Fashion Week & Palm Desert Fashion Week. Ticket sales continue to do
well. Ms. Larson to respond to Ms. Greene's question with regards to
information on the tent opening, for a possible Pop -Up event to create
buzz. Board discussed sponsorship ticket use and agreed that they would
like to utilize the tickets for their own promotional use and will give back
any tickets not used to Ms. Greene. Ms. Greene asked that that the Board
give her unused tickets at minimum of 24 hours prior to the scheduled
show.
Deputy Nelson, Riverside County Sheriff's Department — Deputy Nelson
was not present but reached out to Mr. Klein with the following update:
Deputy Potter has now been official assigned to the Business District
Team and the request for a third officer assigned to the team will go before
Council in the next month. Mr. Fletcher asked if a letter for support should
be written to the Council for their consideration, Mayor Harnik suggested

that a letter of appreciation to the Council for their efforts in supporting this
unique team would be better received. Mr. Fletcher to draft the letter and
send to Council.
V. OLD BUSINESS
A. January Marketing Report Update, Group presentation by FG Creative,
Palm Springs Life and Dawn McCoy - Presented the marketing report for
January. Dawn gave highlights for Instagram and noted that a Social
Media workshop will be offered in April. Paulina Larson gave an update
on website and directory, as traffic and brand awareness are strong. Ms.
Greene briefly discussed the upcoming President Day themed Pop -Up
event, which will take place on Saturday, February 19th. Ms. Greene
announced the plan of hosting a merchant forum in May and more details
will follow. The Special event committee was encouraged to meet again
about thoughts of another activation on the street.
VI. NEW BUSINESS
A. Agency RFP: Goals Discussion — Thomas Soule discussed and
presented a document which contained all Board member goals for the
next five years. Mr. Soule noted down the Boards comments and will
compact the list down, as to the provide the agencies a more direct list
and will then circulate to the Board for their final thoughts, prior to the
next meeting.
VII. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS
None
VIII. REMARKS
A. City of Palm Desert.
Mayor Harnik — Asked that the comments that Ms. Greene has secured
from El Paseo businesses be shared with the City. Mayor Harnik also
shared that the Council just completed their goal setting session.
Board Members.
David Fletcher, The Shops on El Paseo — Mr. Fletcher thanked Ms. Greene
for her marketing efforts. Ms. Goldberg asked what was going into Olive
People's. Mr. Fletcher was able to share that a lease is signed and that
construction has started, however an announcement can not be made at
this time.
Patrick Klein, The Gardens on El Paseo & El Paseo Village — Mr. Klein

announced that Everything But Water will be opening at the El Paseo
Village tomorrow, next to Sun Dance. Ably Appeal will be just opened near
Tommy Bahamas and will be open through April.
Sonja Campbell, Spectacular Shades — Ms. Campbell asked what was
happening at the old Prossage building, across from Bank of American.
No information was available; however, someone will reach out to Ms.
Campbell.
IX. NEXT MEETING:
The next meeting was confirmed for March 17, 2022, 8 a.m.
X. ADJOURNMENT
With board concurrence, the meeting was adjourned at 9:35 a.m.
