ZOOM MEETING I. CALL TO ORDER Chairman Klein called the meeting to order at 8:06 am. II. CONSENT ITEMS A. Approval of the Minutes and Financial Statements of the El Paseo Parking & Business Improvement District Regular Meeting of January 21, 2021. Rec: Approved A motion was made by Campbell and seconded by Stauber to accept and approve. Motion passed with a 4-0-3 vote; with Campbell, Goldberg, Klein, and Stauber, voting in favor; none against; Fletcher, Flaig-Moore and Stein, absent. IV. PARTNER UPDATES A. Hotel Paseo, introduction of new GM — Thomas Soule announced Michael Murray as the new General Manager of Hotel Paseo. Mr. Murray was not in attendance. Palm Springs Life, Events Update - Presented by Frank Jones and Paulina Larson Announced that Palm Desert Fashion Week & Palm Desert Food & Wine will be postponed until 2022, as large gatherings are still prohibited in the City, County and State. All 2020 celebrity talent have confirmed to participate in the 2022 events. Dates for 2022 are as set: Fashion Week — March 19-25, 2022 and Food & Wine — March 25 -27, 2022. For 2021, Palm Springs Life will be creating a virtual chief experience that will occur once a month starting March 2021 and going through Feb. of 2022. Virtual chief experiences will include a local partnership with Jenson's Finest Food to provide prepared meal baskets where participants can purchase and then create the meals at home. City of Palm Desert — Nothing to report Mr. Fletcher did ask to receive more information on any new dining decks that may be coming. EPPBID Board: Street Updates Mr. Klein shared that Rebecca Taylor will be opening at the Village in the Fourth Quarter. Ms. Campbell shared that Elite Consignments has permanently closed. The board also noted that Dennis Roberg Art Gallery is up for sale. E. Greater Palm Springs CVB — Partner not in attendance V. NEW BUSINESS Page 2of4 Retainer/Strategic Planning i. January report (report sent prior to meeting)— Presented by Stephanie Greene, CV Strategies Mrs. Greene discussed the positive numbers for the current marketing campaign and shared that the district saw great PR in the month of January. ii. Partner Updates — Presented by Stephanie Green, CV Strategies; Dawn McCoy, Dawn McCoy Media; Jim Doyle, Palm Springs Life Mrs. Greene and Ms. McCoy presented the increase numbers for social media. Instagram has seen a 6% increase in followers which equates to 1.5 million impressions and has pushed a 5% increase in engagement. Ms. McCoy is working on creating a video and graphics to assist with the Step Up to the Table marketing campaign and this will roll out soon. As for the website, there are currently 310 stores participating on the website and 189 stores are seeing positive click rates. The El Paseo monthly newsletter is doing very well with an open rate of 37% for the 1st month e-blast and 45% for the 2nd month e-blast. Partnerships include the following businesses — Greater Palm Springs CVB, Palm Springs Life and the Palm Desert Area Chamber of Commerce are all going strong and continue to promote El Paseo. Items for the board to consider for next meeting: 1. Opt. -in Sign Up incentive for the PSL newsletter. 2. Desert X magazine advertise buy a. Cost is $3,750 to participate with commitment needed by March 1st The board discussed both items for consideration and asked that the Sign -Up incentive options be researched and that actual costs for each of the suggested incentives be brought to the next meeting for budget consideration. As for the Desert X magazine advertise buy, commitment needs to be decided now and thus a motion was made to participate in the Desert X magazine at the cost of $3,750. Rec: Approved A motion was made by Fletcher and seconded by Stein to accept and approve. Motion passed with a 6-0-1 vote; with Campbell, Goldberg, Klein, Fletcher, Stein and Stauber, voting in favor; none against; Flaig- Moore, absent. Page3of4 Merchant Relations: 2/9 Zoom Forum Recap Ms. Greene presented that the Zoom Forums are well attended with about an average of 30 businesses joining VI. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS None VII. REMARKS A. City of Palm Desert. Mayor Pro Tem Jan Harnik, City of Palm Desert — Shared that the Living Desert will be hosting an Art presentation in conjunction with Desert X. More information to come. Mrs. Harnik also noted that CVAP has received more PPE for local businesses, if needed. Thomas Soule, City of Palm Desert - Stated that a new COVID Testing site will be opening this Sunday at the UCR Palm Desert campus. The site will be open Sunday — Thursday and is Free and provided by Curative. The City is also working on a vaccine site in Palm Desert and hope to announce the opening soon. B. Board Members.
