MINUTES — SPECIAL MEETING
THURSDAY, August 19, 2021 — 8 A.M.

I. CALL TO ORDER
Chairman Klein called the meeting to order at 8:19 a.m.

III. CONSENT ITEMS
A. Approval of the Minutes and Financial Statements of the El
Paseo Parking & Business Improvement District Regular
Meeting of June 17, 2021.
Rec: Approved
A motion was made by Campbell and seconded by Flaig-Moore to accept
and approve. Motion passed with a 5-0-1 vote; with Campbell, Flaig-
Moore, Goldberg, Klein, Stauber, and Stein voting in favor. None against.
Fletcher abstained.
IV. CITY INFORMATION ITEMS
A. President's Plaza Construction Update presented by Vanessa Barrientos.
Construction is moving along, they are getting close to finishing phase one,
which is the underground utilities.
City Update:
Dining Decks Update presented by Kevin Swartz. City Council
authorized a one-year extension for the dining decks, businesses
have to comply with design guidelines have were approved by the
Architectural Review Commission.
ii. Sheriff Update — Presented by Deputy Nelson, Deputy Nelson
introduced Deputy Wilhite who will be joining his team. Deputy
Wilhite updated the committee with the retail theft cases that have
been occurring on El Paseo.
Martha's Village & Kitchen Event Update — Presented by Jonathan Yorba,
Jonathan shared the Martha's Village Kitchen 5 K is coming back, thanked
the City of Palm Desert for approving the event and also for the
sponsorship. The event will be both live and hybrid.

A. Board Positions

A recommendation was made to make a motion to reappoint board seats
of David Fletcher, Elyssa Goldberg, Susan Stauber, and Christine Stein.
A motion was made by Patrick Klein to reappoint board members David
Fletcher, Elyssa Goldberg, Susan Stauber, and Christine Stein. Motion
passed unanimously.
FY 21-22 Brand Campaign Review
Catalog/Directory presented by Stephanie Greene, Frank, and
Paulina from Palm Springs Life. A PowerPoint presentation was
presented for the Brand Campaign, Catalog directory, and Editorial
look followed by a brief discussion.
The presentation was e-mailed to committee members.
ii. New Ads — Stephanie presented four different versions for the new
ad campaign, a hero shot will be developed for each month, the
different versions were presented to the committee followed by a
brief discussion.
Dawn McCoy shared the Instagram numbers have increased
significantly, she also shared the success they had with the event
that was planned during the summer with the collaboration of
merchants, influencers, and local photographers.

Elyssa Goldberg — Preparing for Paint El Paseo Pink.
David Fletcher - Announced there has been a lot of activity at the Shop
on El Paseo, Porta Via restaurant is under construction, a new lease was
executed with Athleta, Margaux has relocated. Olive from Napa Valley
Olive Oil is opening up.
