DRAFT MINUTES — SPECAIL MEETING
THURSDAY, September 24, 2020 — 8 A.M.
ZOOM MEETING
I. CALL TO ORDER
Chairman Klein called the meeting to order at 8:03 am.

III. CONSENT ITEMS
A. Approval of the Minutes and Financial Statements of the El
Paseo Parking & Business Improvement District Regular
Meeting of August 20, 2020.
Rec: Approved
A motion was made by Stein and seconded by Campbell to accept and
approve. Motion passed with a 5-0-2 vote; with Goldberg, Klein,
Campbell, Flaig-Moore, and voting in favor; none against; Stauber and
Fletcher absent.
Approval Financial Statements of the El Paseo Parking &
Business Improvement District Regular Meeting of July 23, 2020
and August 20, 2020.
Rec: Approved
A motion was made by Stein and seconded by Campbell to accept and
approve. Motion passed with a 5-0-2 vote; with Goldberg, Klein,
Campbell, Flaig-Moore, and voting in favor; none against; Stauber and
Fletcher absent.
IV. PARTNER UPDATES
A. City of Palm Desert
a) Outdoor Dining — Presented by Kevin Swartz.
Council approved to move forward with outdoor dining. Working
with Bright Party Rentals and Skip Paige, owner of the Little Bar.
Closure of Lupine for dinning to start October 1, 2020. 13 Dining
decks have been approved. Planning will continue to work with
local restaurants on expansions.
b) Fall events on El Paseo — Presented by Vanessa Mager
Halloween haunted house presented by Family YMCA to take
place on October 29th and October 30th at The Gardens on El
Paseo. Halloween Costume Cruise on El Paseo to take place on
October 31st at 5pm.
Paint El Paseo Pink — Presented by Elyssa Goldberg
This year is a virtual event. Elyssa asking everyone to buy a yard sign & t-
shirt to support the event. Yard signs are $25, entry free (t-shirt included)
is $25. Visit www.paintelpaseopink.org for more information and to

register. Paint El Paseo Pink Cruise Night to take place on October 9,
2020, 4pm-6pm.
Hotel Paseo — Presented by Joe Alegre
Hotel to open October 1, 2020 at 14-18% occupancy. Opening without
AC3. Pool and Fitness center to open by reservation.
Palm Springs Life Update. Presented by Jim Doyle, PSL.
Mr. Doyle presented the monthly report and the accountability report with
content regarding, the Website, Social and Print. PSL to work with property
managers for short term rentals to include catalogue in their properties.
Jim to send talking points and link to Board, as they assist with getting
more businesses to participate.
V. NEW BUSINESS
A. Retainer/Strategic Planning
a) Mr. Klein confirmed with Board that the monthly reports provided by
Stephanie Greene are still valuable. Board unanimously agreed.
Brand Retention — Presented by Stephanie Greene & Paulina
a) Social Media report shared prior to meeting
b) Cover options presented to Board, along with other visual
components for their consideration.
c) PSL plans to re -design website so that it is more content driven.
Merchant Relations
a) Fall Merchant Meeting to be a one -hour zoom call Tuesday,
October 13th at 9am.
b) Influencers tend to look to be paid or to receive freebies in order to
visit and promote El Paseo or a particular store. Mrs. Greene would
like to have a list of businesses that can put together an influencer
package or experience within in a 24-hour notice. This call out will
be included in an upcoming newsletter.
c) Mr. Klein asked the Board to consider dividing up the street into
small sections that each Board member can handle, as they seek
to increase engagement from all merchants. Mrs. Stein volunteered
to take the lead and divide up roles to each Board member. Mrs.
Greene to re -send google doc link with the spreadsheet of merchant
contacts. She will also send an email with highlights of important
information to share with merchants, as the Board visit.

VII. REMARKS
A. City of Palm Desert.
Councilmember Harnik — Suggested that businesses watch the Council
meetings with timely updates. Also encouraged everyone to use the
#UnitePalmDesert when posting on social media.
Board Members.
Christine Stein, Leeds & Son — Encouraged the Board and other
merchants to take photos when out in the City and show support to
businesses visited on personal social media sites. Mrs. Stein also asked
Councilmember Harnik to bring the President Plaza discussion up at the
next Council meeting.
VIII. NEXT MEETING:
The next meeting was confirmed for October 15, 2020, 8 a.m. via Zoom.
IX. ADJOURNMENT
With board concurrence, the meeting was adjourned at 10:05 a.m.
