MINUTES – SPECAIL MEETING
THURSDAY, JULY 23, 2020 – 8:00 A.M.
ZOOM MEETING

I. CALL TO ORDER
Chairman Klein called the meeting to order at 8:05 am.

III. CONSENT ITEMS
A. Approval of the Minutes of the El Paseo Parking & Business

Improvement District Special Meeting of June 30, 2020.
Rec: Approved
Mr. Klein asked the Board for any comments or corrections on the
minutes, none were found. Mr. Klein asked for a motion to approve the
Minutes from the June 30, 2020 Special Meeting. A motion was made by
Campbell and seconded by Flaig-Moore to accept and approve. Motion
passed with a 7-0-0 vote; with Stein, Goldberg, Klein, Campbell, Flaig-
Moore, Fletcher and Stauber voting in favor; none against; none absent.
IV. PARTNER UPDATES
A. Palm Springs Life Update. Presented by Jim Doyle, PSL.
Mr. Doyle presented the monthly report with content regarding, the
Website, Social and Print. Mr. Doyle also presented a new accountability
report that will now be given to the EPPBID on a monthly basis. Mr. Doyle
also reported that currently 60 stores are participating on the new
campaign. Ms. Greene and Mr. Doyle will continue to work with the current
60 stores to assist in elevating their presence on the online directory. Mr.
Klein asked for a report showing the number of clicks per store.
B. City of Palm Desert. Presented by Kevin Swartz.
Mr. Swartz presented on the current expansion of outside dinning in the
City of Palm Desert. Currently El Corso on El Paseo is the only restaurant
with a current application. The City is looking at additional options for
restaurants with regards to space, including closing down Lupine Ln.

EPPBID to host a Zoom restaurant forum on August 4 at 9am. Ms. Stein
will coordinate speakers to talk about best practices and share information.
Mr. Swartz to send information on park lets/dinning decks to Mr. Soule, so
that he may share with the EPPBID Board.
V. NEW BUSINESS
A. FG Creative –June Marketing and Instagram Reports. Presented by
Stephanie Greene
Nothing to discuss.
B. FY 20/21 Final Budget Review; presented by Stephanie Greene
Ms. Greene presented the proposed Final FY 20/21 budget with a total of
$192,000 (presentation attached). Mr. Klein asked the Board for any

comments on the final budget, with no comments, Mr. Klein asked for a
motion to approve. A motion was made by Mr. Fletcher and seconded by
Ms. Campbell to approve. Motion passed with a 7-0-0 vote; with Stein,
Goldberg, Klein, Flaig-Moore, Fletcher, Stauber and Campbell voting in
favor; none against. Mrs. Greene was given the green light to move
forward with securing contracts.
VI. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS
Elyssa Goldberg, Paint El Paseo Pink – Noted that no physical walk will be
taking place this year on El Paseo, as the City of Palm Desert will not be
approving any special event permits for the remainder of 2020. Desert
Cancer Foundation is looking at re-branding the event for 2020. Ms.
Goldberg asked the EPPBID to contact her with any new ideas for this
year’s event. Ms. Stauber suggested a cruise event and Mr. Soule
recommended reaching out to Mrs. Mager as she has been researching
events during COVID-19 and is aware of what is an approved event.
VII. REMARKS
A. City of Palm Desert.
None
B. Board Members.
Sonia Campbell, Spectacular Shades – Commented on how she loves the
new San Pablo.
Stephanie Greene, FG Creative – Shared that she loves the crosswalks
painted on San Pablo.
VIII. NEXT MEETING:
Board Members confirmed that the next meeting will be held on August
20, 2020, 8:00 am via Zoom.
IX. ADJOURNMENT
With board member concurrence, the meeting was adjourned at 8:53 am.
