Approval of the Minutes from October 24, 2019 Board of
Directors Meeting.
Approval of Financial Statements ending October 31, 2019.
Rec: Approved
Mr. Klein asked for a motion to approve the Consent items. A motion
was made by Fletcher and seconded by Campbell to accept and
approve. Motion was passed with a 5-0-1 vote, with Klein, Fletcher,
Campbell, Stauber and Goldberg voting in favor; none against; Stein
absent.
IV. PARTNERS
A. Palm Desert Area Chamber of Commerce — Golf Cart Parade recap
Mr. Rhoden and Ms. Freschetti gave a recap of the 55th Annual Golf Cart
Parade, including a post -event evaluation (attached).
B. Palm Springs Life Update
Mr. Doyle, Mr. Matthews and Ms. Susan Stein gave updates on efforts by
Palm Springs Life to promote El Paseo, including Fashion Week El Paseo,
Palm Desert Food & Wine, A Miracle on El Paseo, and the new event A
Taste of El Paseo.
V. NEW BUSINESS
A. FG Creative Updates
October Marketing Report & Instagram Report — Ms. Greene presented
the marketing report that had been sent out to the Board prior to the
meeting.
Merchant Mixer Recap — Ms. Greene reported to the Board on the
successful Merchant Mixer held at Hotel Paseo, with about 85 merchants
in attendance.
Nov. 9 — FAM Tour Recap — Organized by the Greater Palm Springs CVB,
this media familiarization trip (FAM) comprised 12 Chinese influencers and
meeting planners on an advance scouting trip. FG Creative coordinated all
aspects of their time on El Paseo, including welcome gift bag, store visits
and final reception at Hotel Paseo. She thanked all of the merchants and
stores that helped make this a very successful visit.
Dec. 5 — CTA Training — Ms. Greene reminded the Board of the upcoming
session, and requested RSVPs for the upcoming CTA training on
December 5, 2019.

December Meeting Cancellation
Mr. Klein reminded the Board of the discussion at the previous meeting
regarding potentially cancelling the regular December meeting and asked
for a motion to formally approve the cancellation. A motion was made by
Stein and seconded by Campbell to accept and approve. Motion was
passed with a 6-0 vote, with Campbell, Fletcher, Goldberg, Klein, Stauber
and Stein voting in favor; none against.
Mid -year Budget Adjustment Recommendation
Ms. Greene presented a recommendation for a mid -year budget and
marketing plan adjustment, proposing programs to add to the existing plan
using funds available in the EPPBID account, in addition to a proposed
$15,000 in co-op funds from the City. Presentation attached. Discussion
ensued. A motion was made by Stein and seconded by Campbell to
approve the mid -year adjustment as presented. Motion was passed with a
6-0 vote, with Campbell, Fletcher, Goldberg, Klein, Stauber and Stein
voting in favor; none against.
Board Membership
Mr. Klein gave an update on the Board vacancy. The membership sub-
committee, comprising Mr. Klein and Ms. Stein, interviewed two
candidates for the seat: Mr. Brandt Kuhn of Beacon Pointe, and Mr. Dennis
Flaig of Saks Fifth Avenue. The sub -committee commended both
applicants as excellent potential members of the Board, and thanked both
for their interest. With only one open seat, the sub -committee
recommended Mr. Flaig for membership at this time. Discussion ensued.
A motion was made by Goldberg and seconded by Stauber to approve the
appointment of Mr. Flaig to the Board. Motion was passed with a 6-0 vote,
with Campbell, Fletcher, Goldberg, Klein, Stauber and Stein voting in
favor; none against.
Holiday Media Relations: Designate Board Members for Interviews.
Ms. Greene mentioned that during the holidays the EPPBID is often
contacted for interviews by the local media and requested direction
regarding willing Board members to do these interviews. Discussion
ensued and it was decided by the Board that Ms. Goldberg would handle
interviews if she is available. If not, Ms. Stein, Mr. Klein and Mr. Fletcher
each indicated that they would be willing to step in as needed.

Councilmember Jan Harnik, City of Palm Desert — Councilmember Harnik
relayed good news about the buzz being created by the raised crosswalks
and painted crosswalks on El Paseo. She reported hearing mostly positive
opinions about the demonstration project. Discussion ensued regarding
the project components.
