CALL TO ORDER Rolf Hoehn called the meeting to order at 3:02 p.m. II. CONSENT ITEMS A. Approval of the Minutes of the Marketing Committee meeting of August 10, 2021. Rec: Approved Page 1 of 4 A motion was made by Norman and seconded by Scott to accept and approve. Motion passed with a 4-0-3 vote; with Hoehn, Scott, Simpson, and Norman voting in favor. None abstained, Hulahan, Forrer, and Rodriguez, absent. IV. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS None V. NEW BUSINESS A. Tourism Ad Campaign Evolution Ms. Foertsch presented a recap on what they have been working on for the last few months, focusing on visual evolution and emphasizing Palm Desert was a safe place to visit. For the 2022 campaign the goal is to focus on the "Let's Get Back to Happy" and shoot new assets to expand the current library. Rec: Receive and File. B. Media Plan Recommendation. Ms. Martin presented the updated media plan recommendation, they will be launching their media campaign after the new year, building on the current momentum and the positive trend indicators. The focus will be digital first and continue their partnership with Adara and leveraging with vendor partnerships. Followed by a brief discussion. Mr. Hoehn asked for a motion to approve the Media Plan Recommendation. A motion was made by Norman and seconded by Simpson to accept and approve. Motion passed with a 4-0-3 vote; with Hoehn, Scott, Simpson, and Norman voting in favor. None abstained, Hulahan, Forrer, and Rodriguez, absent. VI. CONTINUED BUSINESS None VII. OLD BUSINESS None Page 2of4 VIII. REPORTS FROM CITY COUNCIL LIAISONS A. City Council. Councilmember Gina Nestande, shared staff has been working with restaurants to submit plans by November and bring their outdoor dining decks up to safety standards. IX. REPORTS AND REMARKS A. Chair. Rolf Hoehn, Indian Wells Tennis Garden — Mr. Hoehn shard that the BNP Paribas was successful, they did not achieve the numbers that were expected, restaurants were busy in between and during plays. Looking forward to a higher attendance for the March event. Committee Members. Brian Simpson, Desert Willow Golf Resort — Mr. Simpson shared the Firecliff golf course opens Friday October 22nd, thanksgiving buffet is on sale now and almost sold out. Wedding inquiries are increasing. Erin Scott, The Living Desert — Ms. Scott shared the Rhino Savannah's grand opening is November 12th. There are a couple of events coming up, Halloween and Wild Lights which will run on selected nights through December 30th Jeffrey Norman, McCallum — Mr. Norman shared their first event of the year is schedule on November 4th. Honoring the first responders in the medical community. C. Staff. Thomas Soule, City of Palm Desert — Mr. Soule reminded everyone of the grand re -opening of both phases of San Pablo and a portion of the CV Link. Also, a new platform for the city has been launched to help with civic engagement, it's called engagepalmdesert.com. X. NEXT MEETING: Confirm February 8th, 2021. XI.
