CALL TO ORDER Rolf Hoehn called the meeting to order at 3:07 p.m. II. Development Also Present: Councilmember Jan Harnik, City of Palm Desert Mayor Gina Nestande, City of Palm Desert Brian Simpson, Desert Willow Golf Resort Cimin Cohen, Ideapeddler Ed Cohen, Ideapeddler Sara Martin, Ideapeddler Andrea Foertsch, Ideapeddler Jan Hulahan, JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort & Spa Stephanie Greene, CV Strategies III. CONSENT ITEMS A. Approval of the Minutes of the Marketing Committee meeting of June 2, 2020 and August 4, 2020. Rec: Approved Mr. Hoehn asked for a motion to approve the Consent Items. A motion was made by Norman and seconded by Rodriguez to accept and approve. Motion passed with a 4-0-1 vote; with Hoehn, Scott, Rodriguez and Norman voting in favor. None abstained, Forrer absent. IV. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS None V. NEW BUSINESS A. FY 2020/21 Media Plan Update Rec: Receive and File. Ms. Cohen, Mr. Cohen, Ms. Foertsch and Ms. Martin presented the updated media plan, followed by a brief discussion. VI. CONTINUED BUSINESS None VII. OLD BUSINESS None VIII. REPORTS FROM CITY COUNCIL LIAISONS A. City Council. Mayor Nestande presented a letter that will be sent to Governor Newsome encouraging him to work with the coalition of Southern California counties, and local governments across the State, to address the particular needs and unique challenges confronting our communities as a result of the pandemic. Page 2 of 3 IX. REPORTS AND REMARKS A. Chair. Rolf Hoehn, Indian Wells Tennis Garden — Mr. Hoehn updated the committee members on their continued plans for next year's BNP Paribas Tennis Tournament. Committee Members. Jeffrey Norman, McCallum Theatre — Mr. Norman announced that the McCallum Theatre's education department is busier than ever. Currently distance learning has been a huge hit across the Coachella Valley and beyond. Erin Scott, The Living Desert — Ms. Scott told the Committee that The Living Desert continues to remain open and has been busy modify attractions inside the park to comply with current guidelines. Wild Lights tickets are now on sale and are expected to sell out. Ray Rodriquez, Casuelas Cafe — Mr. Rodriguez asked Council members present to assist with supporting local musicians during this time by asking the Governor and Riverside County Public Health officials to work with musicians in creating approved guidelines that would allow them to perform at restaurants and other approved locations. C. Staff. Thomas Soule, City of Palm Desert - Mr. Soule gave the floor to Stephanie Greene from CV Strategies to share the El Paseo Parking & Improvement District's marketing plan. X.
