MINUTES
Tuesday, March 20, 2018
I. CALL TO ORDER
Chairperson Boren convened the meeting at 9:01 a.m.

III. CONTINUED BUSINESS
A. SELECT AND APPROVE EIGHTEEN (18) SCULPTURES
AND UP TO FOUR (4) ALTERNATES FOR THE 2019/2020
EL PASEO SCULPTURE EXHIBITION (Continued from the
regular meeting of March 14, 2018)
It was noted that the meeting of March 14, 2018 was
continued and scheduled to March 20, 2018 due to time
restraints.
Ms. Glickman stated that after the Commission meeting of
March 14, she reviewed the scoring from the online website
(Callforentry.org) of the sculptures that were selected by the
Commissioners. She reported that there were eight (8)
sculptures that had high scores and those will be included in
the Exhibition. Ms. Glickman stated that the purpose of
today’s meeting is to request that the Commission select ten

(10) more sculptures and up to four (4) alternates to
complete the selection of sculptures for the Exhibition.
The Commissioners reviewed the balance of the
submissions for the El Paseo Sculpture Exhibition that
received mid-level scoring by the Commissioners at the
regular meeting of March 14, 2018.
The Commission selected the following artists for the
2019/2020 El Paseo Sculpture Exhibition. Music in the Air
by Mario Pikus, Depth of Form by Jacob Burmood, Cross
Pollination by Christine Rojek, Sentry by Thomas Osgood,
Eve by Joe Forrestt Sackett, In Touch by Dan Rider,
Butterfly by Jennifer Corio and Dave Frei, What the Nose
Knows by Ron Simmer, Imploding Octahedron by John
Simms, Love Lost by Ivan McLean, Untitled by Ross
Kellogg, Twin Palms by Stephen Landis, Stranded Heart by
John Meyer, Caught Up II by Chris Rench, Bluebird by Amos
Robinson, and Radiance by Patricia Vader were selected for
the sixteen (16) standard size pads, and Spiritsafe #11 by
John Zylstra was selected for the one (1) small pad and
Hurricane by Ray Katz was selected for the one (1) large
pad. Two (2) alternates, Illumetric Rectangle by Shana
Mabari, and Chief Eye-Heart-Gut, Archer of the West by
Jimmy Descant were selected as the alternates for the
standard size pads, Dragonfly by Mark Horst was selected
as the alternate for the small pad, and Community Unity by
Cole McLaughlin as the alternate for the large pad.
Commissioner Adney moved to accept the above listed
eighteen (18) sculptures and the four (4) alternates for the
2019/2020 El Paseo Sculpture Exhibition. Motion was
seconded by Commissioner Miller. Motion was carried 4-0-0
with Adney, Boren, Hough, and Miller voting AYE with
Campbell and Darby ABSENT.
XII. ADJOURNMENT
Commissioner Adney moved to adjourn the meeting at 9:59 a.m.
Motion was seconded by Commissioner Miller.
