1.ALL ELECTRICAL WORK TO BE INSTALLED BY A QUALIFIED LICENSED ELECTRICIAN AND APPRENTICES WORKING UNDER THE
DIRECT SUPERVISION OF A LICENSED ELECTRICIAN.
2.ALL SOLAR MODULES SHALL BE UL LISTED 1703 AND CEC APPROVED. ALL INVERTERS SHALL BE UL LISTED 1741SA CERTIFIED
AND CEC APPROVED. ALL ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS AND MATERIALS SHALL BE LISTED AND APPROVED FOR IT'S
PURPOSE AND INSTALLED IN A WORKMAN LIKE MANNER. ALL OUTDOOR EQUIPMENT SHALL MEET APPROPRIATE NEMA
STANDARDS.
3.THIS SYSTEM IS INTENDED TO BE OPERATED IN PARALLEL WITH THE UTILITY SERVICE PROVIDER. ANTI-ISLANDING
PROTECTION IS A REQUIREMENT OF UL1741 AND IS INTENDED TO PREVENT THE OPERATION OF THE PHOTOVOLTAIC SYSTEM
WHEN THE UTILITY GRID IS NOT IN OPERATION.
4.PERMISSION TO OPERATE THE SYSTEM IS NOT AUTHORIZED UNTIL FINAL INSPECTIONS AND APPROVALS BY THE LOCAL
AUTHORITY HAVING JURISDICTION AND THE LOCAL UTILITY SERVICE PROVIDER.
5.THE METHOD OF MOUNTING SHALL BE DONE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE RACKING MANUFACTURER TO MEET DEAD
LOAD, WIND LOAD, AND SEISMIC REQUIREMENTS. PHOTOVOLTAIC MODULES WILL BE SECURED AND MOUNTED ON THE
ROOF AS SPECIFIED ON THE STRUCTURAL SHEETS. EXISTING ROOF EQUIPMENT WILL NOT BE EFFECTED BY THE
PHOTOVOLTAIC SYSTEM OR INSTALLATION.
6.ALL FASTENERS SHALL BE CORROSION RESISTANT APPROPRIATE FOR THE SITE CONDITIONS.
7.ALL ROOFING REPAIRS MUST MAINTAIN EXISTING CLASS AND TYPE OF ROOF AND ALL WORK SHALL BE IN ACCORDANCE
WITH THE ROOFING MANUFACTURERS INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS.
8.TO BE INSTALLED IN SUCH A MANNER THAT IS DISCREET AND DOES NOT DETRACT FROM THE HOMES ARCHITECTURE

NOTE: Tesla battery does not export, loads in the BU/critical loads panel self-consume battery
current. Tesla gateway as a PCS (power control system) limits the backfeed to the rated output
of the photovoltaic interactive inverter rated output [79.5A].The 200A POC breaker is sized for
existing loads in the BU/critical loads panel. Only photovoltaic current is considered in the POC
calculations, where the output of the PCS shall be used to calculate conductor and over
current protection to protect overloading buss bars in distribution equipment.
While the 2020 NEC has formally introduced a Power Control System , it allows for backfeed that
exceeds the 120% rule. Conductor Export Limit implemented with the Powerwall system is
designed to function in compliance with the 120% rule from the 2019 CEC, 2017 NEC, and 2014
NEC. This Conductor Limit feature is beneficial for safely connecting a larger amount of energy
storage on a site, without overloading the busbar.
