DATE: February 26, 2004 CONTENTS: Ordinance Exhibit "A" Existing Municipal Code Section 27.12.190 RECOMMENDATION: Waive further reading and adopt Ordinance No. 1061 amending Chapter 27.12.190 of the Palm Desert Municipal Code relating to pad height certification. DISCUSSION: In order to insure adherence to approved development and grading plans, Public Works staff is requesting an amendment to an existing ordinance which requires that building pad heights be certified prior to allowing inspections or approvals on a building's foundation. Public Works staff has been requesting certifications for the top of a building's foundation to insure that the building height will not exceed what has been approved on the grading plan. In addition, requiring horizontal location certification will establish the proper location of the building on the site. In order for staff to enforce these two issues that are important to the building process, the existing ordinance must be amended as shown in Exhibit "A." Submit By: fog- Mark Greenwood, P.E.
