HomeMy WebLinkAboutPurchase Lot 17 43155 Portola Avenue 648-99 u►_ - CITY OF PALM DESERT PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT STAFF REPORT REQUEST: Authorize the Purchase of the Portola Palms Mobile Home Park Lot No. 17, located at 43155 Portola Avenue, from the Palm Desert Redevelopment Agency, as part of the capital improvements with the Magnesia Falls Drive street widening project (CIP No. 648-99) DATE: December 13, 2001 CONTENTS: Agreement Vicinity Map Recommendation: By minute motion, approve the purchase of the Portola Palms Mobile Home Park Lot No. 17, located at 43155 Portola Avenue from the Palm Desert Redevelopment Agency and authorize the Mayor to execute the purchase agreement. Background: On July 19, 2001, City Council approved the contract for the Capital Improvement Project No. 648-99 to TetraTech Inc. for the engineering services in the design of the Magnesia Falls Drive street improvements and bridge over the San Pascual Channel. In reviewing the proposed street improvements it was determined that a driveway could be provided for safer ingress and egress for the Portola Palms Mobile Home Park residents on Magnesia Falls Drive. The proposed driveway will be located on Lot No.17, which fronts the south side of Magnesia Falls Drive and is located approximately 750' west of the intersection of Portola Avenue and Magnesia Falls Drive. Therefore, staff recommends that City Council approve the sale agreement and authorize the Mayor to execute the same. Funds are available in Account No. 213-4626-433-40-01.
