NON-AGENDA PUBLIC COMMENT: Elyssa Goldberg, of BGs on El Paseo, provided an update on the 17th Annual Paint El Paseo Pink event on October 14, 2023. 5. PRESENTATIONS: A. WHITE CANE WALK PROPOSAL - BRAILLE INSTITUTE Amy Sand, of the Braille Institute, provided information regarding the inaugural White Cane Walk to raise awareness for individuals with blindness or vision impairment scheduled for October 2024 on El Paseo. B. TIME TO TALK TRASH CAMPAIGN - LIVING DESERT CONSERVATION Katie Shaw, of the Living Desert, provided an update on “Time to Talk Trash” Campaign and the importance to “Raven-proof” trash containers to help protect the Desert Tortoise population. C. DESERT RESORT CONCIERGES’ ASSOCIATION UPDATE Amy Owens, of the Desert Resort Concierges’ Association, provided an update on the Association’s membership and encouraged local Concierges to reach out and join if interested. 6. CONSENT CALENDAR: MOTION BY BOARD MEMBER FLETCHER SECOND BY BOARD MEMBER STAUBER, CARRIED 6-0, to approve the consent calendar. A. B.SHERIFF UPDATE Deputy Brandon Amato, Business District Team, stated there are no updates regarding El Paseo but spoke on the national rise in retail theft. Sergeant Jeff Cryder introduced himself to the Board. C.MARKETING UPDATE Stephanie Greene, of FG Creative, answered Board questions and provided updates on the following items: •July and August Marketing Reports; •First Fridays Campaign; •Fall Merchant Meeting to be held on November 1st, 2023; •Visit Greater Palm Springs’ The Champions of Hospitality Awards and Gala; and •Initial design of new branding campaign. Paulina Larson, of Palm Springs Life, provided an update on the Palm Springs Life Catalogue and Marketing of El Paseo. 8.ACTION CALENDAR A.PALM DESERT DINING DECK PROGRAM EXTENSION Business Advocate Mager presented the proposed Palm Desert Dining Deck Program Extension and answered Board questions. Board feedback was provided to staff, no action was taken on this item. B.DELIVERABLES FOR FASHION WEEK AND FOOD & WINE SPONSORSHIPS Stephanie Greene, of FG Creative, and Paulina Larson, of Palm Springs Life, provided an update on deliverables for El Paseo Fashion Week and Palm Desert Food & Wine sponsorships. No action was taken on this item.
