CALL TO ORDER Chair Kirkwood called the meeting to order at 3:33 p.m. II. PALM DESERT SPECIALIZED UNITS End of the Month Report for March 2021. C. RIVERSIDE COUNTY FIRE DEPARTMENT/CAL FIRE End of the Month Report for April 2021. D. CODE COMPLIANCE Weekend Reports for March and April 2021. E. EMERGENCY SERVICES COORDINATOR Monthly Report for April 2021. Commissioner Taylor moved to, by Minute Motion, receive and file the items of the consent calendar. Motion was seconded by Vice Chair Luhring and carried by a 4-0 vote (AYES: Luhring, Nethery, Taylor, Kirkwood; NAES: None; ABSENT: Kramer). VI. CONSENT ITEMS HELD OVER NONE VII. NEW BUSINESS A. Consideration of the FY 2021/22 Palm Desert Fire Department Budget. Commissioner Nethery moved to, by Minute Motion, recommend that the Palm Desert City Council approve the FY 2021/22 Palm Desert Fire Department Budget as presented. Motion was seconded by Commissioner Taylor and carried by a 4-0 vote (AYES: Luhring, Nethery, Taylor, Kirkwood; NAES: None; ABSENT: Kramer). Public Safety Commission Approved Minutes May 12, 2021 Page 3 B. Consideration of the FY 2021/22 Palm Desert Police Department Budget. Commissioner Luhring moved to, by Minute Motion, recommend that the Palm Desert City Council approve the FY 2021/22 Palm Desert Police Department Budget as presented. Motion was seconded by Commissioner Taylor and carried by a 4-0 vote (AYES: Luhring, Nethery, Taylor, Kirkwood; NAES: None; ABSENT: Kramer). C. Inquiry by the City of La Quinta on Their Public Safety Camera System. Commissioner Nethery moved to, by Minute Motion, recommend the cameras placed by the City of La Quinta at the intersections of Washington Street & Fred Waring Drive and Washington Street & Palm Royale Drive only be permitted to film in areas without a reasonable expectation of privacy. Motion was seconded by Chair Kirkwood and carried by a 4-0 vote (AYES: Luhring, Nethery, Taylor, Kirkwood; NAES: None; ABSENT: Kramer). VIII. CONTINUED BUSINESS NONE IX. OLD BUSINESS NONE X.
