ORAL COMMUNICATIONS None to report. IV. APPROVAL OF MINUTES A. Minutes of the September 28th, 2021 Palm Desert Finance Committee Meeting Upon a motion duly made by Member Kelly and seconded by Member Alexander, the minutes of the September 28th, 2021, Palm Desert Finance Committee Meeting, as presented, were approved by a vote of 5-0-1 (AYES: Alexander, Garcia, Harnik, Kelly, and Leo; NOES: None; ABSENT: Messenger). FINANCE DIRECTOR’S REPORT (through October 2021) 1. General Fund Financial Report Janet Moore provided an overview of the City’s financial report. Upon a motion duly made by Member Alexander and seconded by Member Garcia, a recommendation that the Finance Committee receive and file the October 2021 financial report for the City of Palm Desert was approved by a vote of 5-0-1 (AYES: Alexander, Garcia, Harnik, Kelly, and Leo; NOES: None; ABSENT: Messenger). 2. Parkview Office Complex Financial Report Anthony Hernandez provided information on the operation of the Parkview Professional Office Buildings. Upon a motion duly made by Member Harnik and seconded by Member Garcia, a recommendation that the Finance Committee receive and file the October 2021 financial report for the Parkview Professional Office Buildings was approved by a vote of 5-0-1 (AYES: Alexander, Garcia, Harnik, Kelly, and Leo; NOES: None; ABSENT: Messenger). INFORMATIONAL ITEM 1. Update on Sales Tax for the 2nd Quarter, 2021 Janet Moore provided an update on the sales tax for the second quarter of 2021. B. DESERT WILLOW GOLF RESORT (through October 2021) 1. Financial Report Derek White discussed the operation and activity at the Desert Willow Golf Resort. Upon a motion duly made by Member Kelly and seconded by Member Alexander, a recommendation that the Finance Committee receive and file the October 2021 financial report for Desert Willow Golf Resort was approved by a vote of 5-0-1 (AYES: Alexander, Garcia, Harnik, Kelly, and Leo; NOES: None; ABSENT: Messenger). CITY TREASURER’S REPORT (September and October 2021) 1. Investment Reports Thomas Metz provided a brief overview of September and October 2021 investment reports. Upon a motion duly made by Member Campbell and seconded by Member Alexander, a recommendation that the City Council receive and file the treasurer’s reports for September and October 2021, as presented, was approved by a vote of 5-0-1 (AYES: Alexander, Garcia, Harnik, Kelly, and Leo; NOES: None; ABSENT: Messenger). INFORMATIONAL ITEM 1. LAIF and CAMP Overview Mr. Metz provided an overview of the Local Agency Investment Fund (“LAIF”) and the California Asset Management Program (“CAMP”). VI. CONTINUED BUSINESS None. VII. OLD BUSINESS None. VIII. INFORMATIONAL ITEMS A. Committee Member Comments 1. Update on CV Link Randy Bowman provided an oral report of the CV Link project stating that the City Council approved a Notice of Completion at their November 18th meeting. The project was constructed under a cooperative agreement with CVAG who committed to reimburse the City of Palm Desert 100% of its cost for the project. Update on Aquatic Center Andy Ramirez provided an update on the Aquatic Center stating that a contract has been secured to install security cameras. Staff is preparing to go out to bid for projects budgeted under the Capital Improvement Projects (CIP) pertaining to the Aquatic Center such as resurfacing of the recreational areas and install lighting at the lap pools. Staff received kudos for high caliber service and cleanliness of the Aquatic Center. B. Request to Add Potential Items to Upcoming Agenda Janet Moore stated that the auditors will be present at the next meeting to report on the audited financial report for fiscal year ended June 30, 2021.
