A. Approve the Minutes of the regular Cultural Arts Committee
meeting held on June 8, 2022.
Member Higgins moved to approve the Minutes of the
regular Cultural Arts Committee meeting held on June 8, 2022.
Motion was seconded by Member Flint and carried 5-0-2 with
Adney, Boren, Flint, Hauer, and Higgins voting AYE with Mitze
and Wallach ABSTAINING.

A. CONSIDER RECOMMENDATION TO PURCHASE A
SCULPTURE FROM THE 2021/2022 EL PASEO
SCULPTURE EXHIBITION FOR INCLUSION IN THE
CITY’S PERMANENT PUBLIC ART COLLECTION TO BE
INSTALLED IN A LOCATION TO BE DETERMINED

Member Higgins moved to recommend the purchase of
Tyler Burton’s Fossils of the Future for placement at the Civic
Center Park located at the northeast portion of the park near
the pollinator garden. Motion was seconded by Member Flint
and carried 5-2-0 with Boren, Flint, Higgins, Mitze, and Wallach
voting AYE with Adney and Hauer voting NO.
B. REQUEST FOR DIRECTION ON MURAL FUNDING AND
DESIGN FOR SOUTHEAST WALL ON SAN PABLO AND
SAN GORGONIO (Continued from the meeting of June 8,
2022)
Ms. Lawrence referred to the staff report specifically noting
the request by Flat Black for an additional $1,000.00 paid by
the City increasing the City’s cost to $8,500.00.
Member Higgins moved to accept the design by
Kathleen Goff as presented with the suggestion to replace the
saguaro cacti with ocotillo. Motion was seconded by Member
Hauer and carried 7-0-0 with Adney, Boren, Flint, Hauer,
Higgins, Mitze, and Wallach voting AYE.
Member Hauer moved to approve an additional $1,000
from the City to cover the cost of a scissor lift. Motion was
seconded by Member Adney with Adney, Boren, Flint, Hauer,
Higgins, Mitze, and Wallach voting AYE.
