CALL TO ORDER Chair Dean Gatons called the meeting to order at 3:02 p.m. II. Harnik, Mayor Amy Lawrence, Special Programs Manager Debbie Thompson, Recording Secretary Trisha Stull, Management Analyst Andy Firestine, Assistant City Manager/Director of Public Works David Freedman, Coachella Valley Association of Governments (CVAG) III. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS None IV. APPROVAL OF MINUTES A. MINUTES of the Resource Preservation & Enhancement Committee meeting of February 28, 2022. Rec: Approve as presented. Member Trubee moved to approve the Minutes of the regular meeting held on February 28, 2022. Motion was seconded by Member Guinaw and PRELIMINARY MINUTES RESOURCE PRESERVATION & ENHANCEMENT COMMITTEE APRIL 18, 2022 2 carried 5-0-3 with Blackburn, Gatons, Guinaw, O’Donnell, and Trubee voting AYE; with Members Henderson, Heuring, and Mason ABSENT. V. PRESENTATIONS A. Inland Regional Energy Network (I-REN) Introduction Mr. David Freedman gave a presentation on the Inland Regional Energy Network. VI. NEW BUSINESS NONE VII. OLD BUSINESS NONE VIII. REPORTS AND REMARKS A. STAFF 1. Project Status Report Ms. Stull asked if there were questions regarding any of the items provided on the Project Status Report. - Upcoming Recycling Events - SB 1383 Organics Rollout - Gas Powered Lawn Equipment - City Council Study Session on Environmental Initiatives - Mandatory Ethics Training Upon question by Chair Gatons, Ms. Stull responded that residents will receive a welcome kit from Burrtec that will include a kitchen pail for organics recycling. B. City Council Members Mayor Harnik made note of the bicycle rack incentive program. Upon comment by Mayor Harnik, Ms. Lawrence responded that the City Manager directed the Landscape and Planning divisions to work on updating the current plant palette. ADJOURNMENT With Committee concurrence, Chair Gatons adjourned the meeting at 3:56 p.m. Debbie Thompson, Recording Secretary
